How this is measured
- The ratio. For each market, the newest day in the last 30 days on which the game had a list price there and in the US. The local price is converted to dollars at the newest exchange rate on or before that day (its date is in the ratio’s tooltip), then divided by that day’s US price. 1.00 means the market pays what America pays.
- List prices only. A day is skipped when the store reported a discount on either side, or when either price was below the highest price that copy showed in that market in the window. Our daily snapshots do not record regional sale state, so a sale shows up to us only as that dip: a copy discounted for the whole window still passes, and a permanent price cut is skipped until the old price is 30 days old.
- The comps. Steam games (not DLC, not adult) that share at least 3 of this game’s 20 tags, whose list price is within ±30% of its own ($6.00–$13.00), and that have a converted list-price pair in the window. We store tags without an order, so there is no “main tag” to match on. Regional prices are collected only for the Steam games the nightly price sweep covers, so the comps come from that set. 586 games met the tag and price rules and had a price outside the US in the window. They are ranked most shared tags first, then highest modeled revenue, and the first 40 of the top 120 with a converted pair are used: 40 here.
- The flag. The difference is the game’s ratio over the comps’ median ratio, less one. Beyond +15% is “above”, beyond −15% “below”. With fewer than 5 comps priced in a market there is no flag; n is shown either way.
- Valve’s recommended regional prices are not shown: that table is in the Steamworks partner site, not on a public page we can cite.
