After thirty years, I've finally beaten the game without continues - or using only a single quarter. GG.

Un clásico de los arcade que ningún retro gamer debería dejar fuera de su colección de juegos. Pasan los años y este juego no aburre, recomendadisimo Un frenesí de disparos y muerte en 2D, con su pixelart y sonidos espectaculares de la época que uno se pasaba la tarde en los locales de maquinitas. Extremamente divertido, arte lindíssima, atemporal, única, tão bem detalhada e rica. As vezes tudo que precisamos é sair dando tiro sem parar em uma loucura sem fim.

1996年のゲームだが未だにメタスラを超えるクオリティのドット絵とゲームの面白さが詰まった作品を見たことがない。全6ステージで1周30分もかからないが、ノーコンティニューや捕虜コンプリートを目指すと絶妙に難しいのも良い。エンディングも皮肉が効いていてゲーム史に残ると思う。 OPが起動時にしか見れない、ネオジオ特有の操作説明デモがないなど、移植の出来に愛を感じないが、裏を返せばサクッとプレイできる仕上がりにはなっている。 Steamに売っている他のメタルスラッグシリーズにも言えることだが、日本で生まれたゲームなのだから先ず日本語版も選べるようにするべきである。捕虜の名前表示ぐらいにしか影響はないが、そのせいでふざけた捕虜名の遊び心を感じる事ができない。移植を担当した開発陣はドット表示された日本語のエモさをわかってない。 ゲームはもちろん最高なので、開発会社を変えてGUIから何まで1から移植しなおしてほしいと思う。

老牌街机神作，横版突突突爽到飞起，武器载具花样贼多，难度够劲还耐刷，童年回忆拉满，玩着还是当年内味儿。

I love METAL SLUG, especially the first one and second one. The art is stellar, the gameplay is great, it's sounds are iconic and bosses memorable. The Stage 1 OST of METAL SLUG 1 is engrained into my brain, that's how many times I listened to it (for both good and bad reasons). ...this port is just okay though. You'd be probably better off just emulating it with MAME for a more authentic (and less laggy) experience.
