Questions people ask

Short answers. For what a term means, see the glossary.

What is GamesBerry?

A free site that estimates how many copies games sell and how much they earn, and tracks their prices, reviews, followers and players. It is made for game developers, publishers and investors deciding what to make, when to launch and what to expect.

Where do the numbers come from?

From what the stores publish: review counts, prices, followers, player counts and charts. No store publishes sales or revenue, so those are our estimates, marked with ≈. On Steam we estimate from reviews and price; on Google Play from install counts.

How we estimate →Glossary →

How accurate are the estimates?

Checked against the copies sold that studios have published, our estimate is typically off by about 27%, and the real figure lands inside the range we print about 8 in 10 times. Individual games can be off by much more, especially ones with few reviews, which is why we show a range and not a single number.

Every check, game by game →

How often is the data updated?

Every day for most numbers: reviews, prices and player counts are read daily, followers on a rotating schedule, and estimates are recomputed daily. The Data status page shows how fresh each store is.

Which stores do you cover?

Steam, GOG, Epic, App Store, Xbox, Google Play, PlayStation and Nintendo. Sales and revenue estimates are made for Steam and Google Play only; the other stores show prices, charts and ratings where the store publishes them.

Is it free?

The catalogue is. Every list, ranking and game page shows its estimates to everyone, with no account. A free account lets you track your own games, set alerts and get a weekly email. Pro adds depth.

Can I use the data in my article or pitch deck?

Yes. Quote figures and charts with credit to GamesBerry, link the page where you can, and say that revenue figures are estimates. Copying the data in bulk or reselling it is not allowed; the API is the way to get it in bulk.
