I'm not going to lie, but when I first saw the trailer for Stellar Blade, I thought that it was going to be overhyped and mediocre and I certainly wasn't going to pay full price for the game. But recently I had bought the game at a decent discount. And boy was I wrong about Stellar Blade at it is absolutely phenomenal. The visuals of the environments, monsters and characters are astounding. The music is extraodinary and an absolute treat to listen to, and the story is quite good, albeit a little predictable. Now as for the combat, for me it feels like a souls-like game minus all of the tedious BS that you normally find in such games. I.E Overtuned bosses, excessive runbacks and punishing defeats/ deaths ect. Don't get me wrong, the game is challenging, but the difficulty (at least on normal) didn't overstay its welcome. There are plenty of camps and there is always a camp right before a boss, so no runbacks. For me most bosses weren't overly difficult as long as you kind of pay attention to what they're doing. The dodge and parrying is fairly forgiving and there are ways to make it even easier such as skill upgrades, and equipping a certain Exospine. The combat is quite fast, and the protagonist EVE's moves are very fluid and quite fun to pull off. There is also hearing accessibilty options that makes audible cues more distinct. I don't know if this helped with parrying or not, but as a deaf person, I was quite surprised and appreciative that such an accessibility option was included and I wish more developers were more considerate of the hearing impaired when making games. Stellar Blade has lots of side quests, lots of collectibles such as cans (a meme) and a truck load of sexy outfits for EVE. There is even fishing, which was a nice change of pace. The game also has new game+ and there is a mode where you can fight/ practice against any and all bosses on any difficulty. Basically, the game has a fair bit of content. In summary, Stellar Blade is a phenomenal game with a decent story, gorgeous visuals, outstanding musical scores as well fast pace combat that is rewarding and challenging but not overly punishing. And the fact that the protagonist EVE is an incredibly sexy female (modelled after a real woman) is just the cherry on the sundae. One might be tempted to play the game with one hand, but I wouldn't recommend it. Joking aside, Stellar Blade in my opinion is peak and I give it a score of 9.5/10.
damn she got some thick ass thighs
Real solid action game, would give it an 8/10. I'm not a fan of open world stuff they tend to feel less well done to me always. That is a good 1/2 the play time. After you get to the second half the game though wow does it really pick up. Boss fights get much better, the level design is far more interesting.
Fanatastic game. Went in mostly blind aside from fanart and clips on twitter. Eve is beautiful, animations are very good, fun combat through a surprisingly large world, intriguing story, and just enough side content imo. doesn't feel like a chore to run around doing puzzles, platforming, and minibosses for collectibles and upgrades. ending was weird but kinda expected, story was pretty decent overall and i had read that was the most common gripe. I get it but it wasnt a dealbreaker, I thought it was good. a few platforming segments were weird. some animations feel like they trap you so you cant parry but you get a feel for it. haven't done NG+ yet but will get to that eventually. no performance issues.
Tremenda obra maestra, mas satisfactoria que el sxo 20/10 y good
amazing combat and story. the game is great
I LOVED This game. Some things drove me a little crazy, like the sometimes sluggish battle mechanics, or attacking in a specific direction, or followup attacks, but those pale in comparison to the overwhelmingly good gameplay, beautiful graphics, excellent voice acting, and excellent story and plot twists. Normally, the first thing I do when I launch a game is turn off the music (old habits for freeing up CPU), but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was!
