please make this game go on sale for 40bucks please its a summer sale and me and my brother want to play it
Let me start off be saying this game is phenomenal. Elden Ring is nothing short of a masterpiece. From the moment you step into the lands between, the game captivates you with its vast, mysterious open world that rewards curiosity and exploration at every turn. The art style and immersive atmosphere of a usual Fromsoftware game combined with a extremely massive world makes for one hell of an experience. When you play Elden Ring you can see the passion, soul and effort they put in to it. They took everything they learned from previous titles and expanded on it. My biggest issue with the game are the side quests. I don't mind not having a quest log to follow but it's literally impossible not to miss quests or mess others up by progressing too far without a guide and even with a guide it's still convoluted. I think Fromsoft got too used to their games being linear where you would likely find the NPC again and pretty soon at that. Elden Ring's format makes it not only very difficult to stumble upon them again you constantly risk breaking side quests by talking to the wrong people, killing a boss in the wrong order, or even just opening some other quest before you were "supposed" to. An average Fromsoft quest is like you find a wizard in the middle of nowhere and they tell you some gibberish like “follow the forsaken path” then you’re expected to find a secret chest in some swamp area that leads you to a note that assumes you’ll know how to go back to. Then you have to talk to an NPC 3 more times in 3 different locations to complete the quest. Then you find their corpse slumped over on a rock... It’s mind numbing. Another problem are the boss fights some of them have long and aggressive combos without any means to counter them without taking dmg except to move far away and let them finish their 5+ hit combo. Bosses like this are more suitable for Sekiro fight mechanics as defending against them doesn't consume stamina and is also another way of offense against them as well. Sekiro has the most refined combat system they’ve ever made, and if Fromsoft wanted Elden Ring’s bosses to be as fast as Sekiro, they should’ve allowed for the deflect/visible stamina mechanic to be utilized. Elden Ring is one of my favorite Fromsoft games to date. Exploring the lands between for the first time was the best experience in gaming i’ve ever had. But thinking of replaying it's quite a chore due to the sheer size of it, especially after just finishing it. The game needs either something like the bonfire ascetics from DS2 or the boss refight and boss rush from Sekiro. I don't want a reward or anything. I wouldn't even care if you didn't get runes. Just the option of redoing bosses without replaying the entire damn game would be a huge benefit.

Objectively the best game ever made there is seriously nothing that comes close.
This game did something VERY important for me, and it is that it brought me back from gaming burnout TWICE. The first time was when it came out, I just didn't want to play any games, everything felt bothersome, and then this game came out. BAM, instantly reignited my interest in video games. I was feeling this way again at the start of 2025, replayed the game for the third time, and BAM once again I felt my gaming itch return, and since then I've been on a crazy gaming binge. If I ever feel that way again, I know I'm gonna replay this game. Despite being open world and there being a trillion open world games out there, this one really stands out to be, you can truly just do whatever the living fk you want, and you'll have fun. Also, the world of Elden Ring to this day has been very inspiring to me for my own writing. It tells a lot by simply showing you, and I think that's something more games need to get better at.
The game is incredibly well designed and addictive even though the PC optimization isnt great, it's well worth the money I highly recommend this game 10/10
you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself add horse armor dlc to the game
The double irony that Fromsoft chose to tarnish this masterpiece with a dlc called the tarnished pack and that also being horse armor of all things. If it wasn't so sad I'd be laughing. On a serious note, yes I hear you people, it's just 5 bucks, it's comparatively good value. But none of that changes that Elden Ring used to be a pure, excellent, no mtx game and now there is stuff paywalled within. This is more than scary for the future of From to me and this move definitely kicked Fromsoft out of the League of Devs I can trust blindly. Insanely bad business decision, Elden Ring would have and still will generate stupid amounts of revenue for years to come. Why would you risk to tarnish your reputation if this is not the way you plan to handle things in the future?
Please, for the love of good go back. Do not add Microtransactions to this game. This game is a masterpiece. Do not ruin your reputation. Do not become like the rest of the industry
Paid horse armor in 2026 shouldn't be supported so even though the game is very good I wouldn't recommend it.
