Had high hopes for the game, but it fell short. Combat heavily relies on one thing and one thing only, perfect parries, and its the most annoying thing to do in this game, because of the huge delays of attacks it makes it annoying because you have to stand there waiting for it. God forbid you make a mistake, you are going to die in all boss fights, I get that it has to be challenging but its annoying, and again the culprit is the delay before witch you can do anything. But almost all attacks are combos from bosses and they just chain together. Also the movement, it is not precise enough, but you have to be anyway, because you can interact with well, interactables from exactly one tiny sopt, and you have to be in that exact position, like, why? I just want to sit down, I should be able to do it from 30cm beside it, but the game is like NO! I came in blind to this game, and I personally I'm not a fan of ELDEN RING esc respan/save. I felt it didn't belong in this game. Especially how you start again after a Boss fight, you waste so much time running. Its not at all fun. Not to mention, the animation time once you reach the boss fight location, wait again, and then while doing the boss fight wait again because ofc you have to time the insaly huge delay for a perfect parry. The story was fine, its ok. I did complete the story, and usually I'm intrested in contunuing the journey for collectibles and what not but this is impossible here. Like, why would I wait on the main sotry because I have not yet cought that one fish, ohh sorry I didn't find all the cans, yes because I wanted to roam around more after I become the strongest after the final boss fight. But NO! They even give you upgrade materials after the final fight, I just have one question to the devs.... To what end? (NG+ is not good enough of a reason) Fortunately I had completed all the side quests and most collectibles before, but it is such a waste.
I'd never heard anything about the soundtrack before playing, but what an incredible soundtrack it is. I stop for long periods of time to listen to the music at rest points. It's really beautiful. I'm shocked that this game was maligned. It's objectively good, reminding me of titles from the xbox golden-age with modernized fighting mechanics. It's a very videogame-y videogame in all the best ways. Stellar Blade reminds me that quality single player action games are still very much alive and well. And this one has fantastic butts in it.
my favorite game
Fanatastic game. Went in mostly blind aside from fanart and clips on twitter. Eve is beautiful, animations are very good, fun combat through a surprisingly large world, intriguing story, and just enough side content imo. doesn't feel like a chore to run around doing puzzles, platforming, and minibosses for collectibles and upgrades. ending was weird but kinda expected, story was pretty decent overall and i had read that was the most common gripe. I get it but it wasnt a dealbreaker, I thought it was good. a few platforming segments were weird. some animations feel like they trap you so you cant parry but you get a feel for it. haven't done NG+ yet but will get to that eventually. no performance issues.

Bro. Dude. Ya'll. This is a banger of a game. Imagine Nier Automata and Bayonetta meet a cyberpunk Sekiro without the overtly brutal souls-like. In fact, this is definitely NOT a souls-like, and I LOVE that aspect. Bigger combos, better maneuverability, fuller attacks--game is built to be flashy and absolutely nails the vibes. Love the setting thus far and the character cast is lively. Just made it to the city/hub and can't wait to dive back into the world. Great game. Amazing protagonist. Unforgetting mechanics. Game just feels GREAT to play <3
VERY FUN
I'm not going to lie, but when I first saw the trailer for Stellar Blade, I thought that it was going to be overhyped and mediocre and I certainly wasn't going to pay full price for the game. But recently I had bought the game at a decent discount. And boy was I wrong about Stellar Blade at it is absolutely phenomenal. The visuals of the environments, monsters and characters are astounding. The music is extraodinary and an absolute treat to listen to, and the story is quite good, albeit a little predictable. Now as for the combat, for me it feels like a souls-like game minus all of the tedious BS that you normally find in such games. I.E Overtuned bosses, excessive runbacks and punishing defeats/ deaths ect. Don't get me wrong, the game is challenging, but the difficulty (at least on normal) didn't overstay its welcome. There are plenty of camps and there is always a camp right before a boss, so no runbacks. For me most bosses weren't overly difficult as long as you kind of pay attention to what they're doing. The dodge and parrying is fairly forgiving and there are ways to make it even easier such as skill upgrades, and equipping a certain Exospine. The combat is quite fast, and the protagonist EVE's moves are very fluid and quite fun to pull off. There is also hearing accessibilty options that makes audible cues more distinct. I don't know if this helped with parrying or not, but as a deaf person, I was quite surprised and appreciative that such an accessibility option was included and I wish more developers were more considerate of the hearing impaired when making games. Stellar Blade has lots of side quests, lots of collectibles such as cans (a meme) and a truck load of sexy outfits for EVE. There is even fishing, which was a nice change of pace. The game also has new game+ and there is a mode where you can fight/ practice against any and all bosses on any difficulty. Basically, the game has a fair bit of content. In summary, Stellar Blade is a phenomenal game with a decent story, gorgeous visuals, outstanding musical scores as well fast pace combat that is rewarding and challenging but not overly punishing. And the fact that the protagonist EVE is an incredibly sexy female (modelled after a real woman) is just the cherry on the sundae. One might be tempted to play the game with one hand, but I wouldn't recommend it. Joking aside, Stellar Blade in my opinion is peak and I give it a score of 9.5/10.
