Lies of P is a thrilling soulslike that takes the story of Pinocchio, turns it on its head, and sets it against the darkly elegant backdrop of the Belle Epoque era.

Reviews
Lies of P deserves so much more praise and attention than it got. I truly can't believe this game is as good as it is. Coming from a developer with no experience in the genre and minimal history as a studio this is truly a remarkable accomplishment. The music, the atmosphere, the astonishingly appropriate adaptation of Pinocchio lore. THE COMBAT. Handle-head assembly, grindstones, legion arms, the bosses. This is insanely impressive. The only real Souls-like developer outside of FromSoftware.

Beautiful aesthetic, an excellent OST, and a fun soulslike overall. The early game was easily the hardest part for me, but once I got into the mid and late game, the difficulty dropped off considerably. Progression is fairly linear, and most of the meaningful choices come down to picking one option or the other, so don't expect a huge amount of build-defining decision-making. That said, the combat is enjoyable, the world is visually impressive, and the soundtrack does a great job setting the mood. The game also offers three difficulty levels, which is a nice option for players who want to adjust the challenge to their liking. A solid soulslike that's especially worth checking out if you're looking for a more accessible entry in the genre.
Well, I don't know where to start. I'm going to make it short. The gameplay hadn’t really clicked for me, and I just lost interest. Coming from fast-paced games like Returnal, Titanfall 2 etc., I found the bosses here fairly easy and predictable due to their repetitive and comparatively slow attack patterns. To me, personally, standing around and waiting for a boss to attack just to press a parry button lacked the tension and challenge I look for. When I truly enjoy a game, I have incredible stamina for diving deep into the mechanics, reading the lore, and figuring out the strongest tactics. But in Lies of P, even after Romeo, I was still running around with my starter sabers because I wasn’t even motivated to engage with the crafting and upgrade systems. To also be transparent about my playing time here, the gameplay just didn't catch my attention enough, so I ended up leaving the game running in the background for a huge chunk of those 60 hours. Don't get me wrong, this is absolutely a personal preference, which is why I’m still giving it a positive review. The game has an incredibly beautiful atmospheric world design with great attention to detail, awesomely designed boss visuals and offers solid gameplay, but overall it’s just not my cup of tea. I just prefer games that require fast reflexes and precise aiming over memorizing boss patterns. If you're into dark fantasy, industrial-steampunk settings and the vibe of Dark Souls games, Lies of P will definitely suit your taste.

Lies of P is the best Soulslike I've ever played. It gave me the same feeling I had back in 2011 when I first played Dark Souls. A mysterious interconnected world and challenging combat. At the same time, it carries a strong bloodborne flavour with its fast paced combat, gothic atmosphere, and aggressive playstyle. It doesn't just imitate FromSoft, it captures the magic that made those games unforgettable. The DLC is AMAZING!
At the beginning of the game i was suspicious, but after 1 chapter i saw that this will be legendary and indeed now i know why everyone call this game Lies of Peak. Masterpiece of game
Lies of PEAK! I'm glad I gave this game another try, loved it and highly recommend it if you enjoy Souls-likes!
got a donkey mask
Beautiful, good controls and challenging. My only complaint is how linear it is. I know its a me thing, but whenever I see games with the "souls-like" tag, I think of the combat but also the roaming. This has the combat element but no exploring. The amount of exploring is comparable to your grandparents taking you to a corn maze for an exciting adventure, and it makes the game kind of boring. I waited for it to go on sale and finally got it, but after a few hours I realized that what I had been experiencing was as good as I was going to get. Don't get me wrong, I will finish it eventually. I would also recommend it to friends with a word of caution that its just a combat based, boss-to-boss type game with some customizing.
