i can't stop playing this game..

Great open-world action game. Exploration is very fun--lots of climbing and swimming and spelunking. The world-building is great, though somewhat similar to Zelda: BotW. There are many ways to play--melee-first, ranged, with traps, etc. Multiple playthroughs are definitely possible. Highly recommend.
Here is my review for Horizon Forbidden West, which I bought on a deep discount for 20 euros. At that price, it is completely worth it, but I definitely wouldn't recommend paying full price for it. I was curious about this sequel because I received Horizon Zero Dawn years ago in a CPU bundle and really enjoyed the combat back then. When it comes to the gameplay, this game absolutely delivers. The combat mechanics are great, and battling the robot monsters is incredibly fun. The character upgrades are satisfying, and I really loved upgrading all the weapons, especially the variety of bows. Mechanically, the game is solid, and it ran very well on my system with zero bugs once I spent some time tweaking all the settings to get them just right. Where the game completely falls flat is the writing and the protagonist. Aloy has become an insufferable girl boss character. You are basically wiping out entire villages across the map, which essentially makes her a serial killer, yet she constantly holds the moral high ground, particularly over all the men she encounters. It is exhausting. The overall story is pretty weak compared to the first game, where her attitude wasn't nearly as annoying. I found myself trying to skip through the cutscenes as fast as possible, and I had zero interest in using the dialogue options since they just exist to feed you more of a story I did not care about. If you can get it cheap and want to skip the narrative just to fight giant robot dinosaurs with upgraded bows, go for it. Just don't expect a good story or a likable main character.
