Great game, but please, do not pay any money to Sony after they decided to pull the rug out from under PC players. You should play this game, great game, but find it for free. Paying money for this game is actually a bad idea unless Sony re-dedicates to PC releases.
Loved this game. There are so many good things and a few bad things but overall would recommend this to people who like FarCry style games, killing baddies, taking over territories etc. The voice acting was superb in this game, the writing for the main story was also fantastic. I could have watched this as a movie instead of playing it, very well crafted. Loads of little tidbits you can pickup throughout the world. BUT after 72hrs it was getting old. The usual lets make a beautiful world, and drop poi's all over the map, we will make about 6 or 7 different types and just scatter them everywhere this will extend the gameplay of completionists. I am kind of funny where in the beginning I love this style of play because I think secretly I long to be a hoarder and this style of gaming allows me to collect without really taking up space. However after awhile it gets tedious especially when there is no real pay off for doing it other than to explore the world. This brings me to my other point that I didn't like about this game. I am a wanderer so when I see an open map with fast travel checkpoints I think "oh I should just go unlock all those so future missions will be easy" Which led me to the part I didn't like which was the game felt unbalanced but only because I was jumping ahead. Once I went back to the main mission after realizing I had leveled up to 20 or so I realized the missions were only level 8. Once I stuck to the main missions the game felt better paced. But this is one of those games where yes it is an open world but it plays better when you follow the linear path the devs set out. There were times too where the combat felt unbalanced, some machines were easy to take down and others were almost impossible. I also found the weapons system was a bit clunky, you had lots of options but once you leveled up enough you could just brute force your way through most situations. Having said all that I really enjoyed this game and the story alone is worth a play through. I would just recommend don't go completionist and just follow the path. Only do side missions if you need help leveling up a bit. I would say this was an 8/10 for me. I would play future installments of this game.

This is an amazing game and I loved it and the sequel, but Sony is refusing to ever release the third and final entry on PC so I never get to know how it ends. I waited FIVE YEARS avoiding spoilers for this games PC release. I was so stoked that the third game only took three years for a port. And now they've ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ us. So ♥♥♥♥ em. Boycott in effect. This is gonna hurt, cause it means not seeing the end of the spiderverse in cinemas.
Sony took their ball and went home. Let them. They don't want to entertain PC players or fund their largest IP's. Can't recommend a publisher that treats its customers or developers that way.
Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most creative and beautifully executed open-world games of the modern era. The game introduces a brilliant concept: a post-apocalyptic world where primitive human tribes coexist with majestic, terrifying, animalistic machines. Following Aloy's journey to uncover the secrets of the past is an unforgettable experience, backed by deep lore and incredibly tactical combat. 🟢 Pros Incredible Combat Mechanics: Fighting the machine monsters is a thrilling tactical puzzle. You have to actively target specific armor plates, elemental canisters, and weapons to take them down. Fascinating World & Lore: The story of how the old world fell and how the machines came to be is masterfully written, keeping you hooked from start to finish. Gorgeous Visuals: The PC port features stunning landscapes, vibrant ecosystems, and incredible particle effects that look breathtaking at high resolutions. Great Weapon Variety: From traps and tripwires to various bow types and rope-casters, the game gives you total freedom in how you approach every hunt. 🔴 Cons Stiff Human Combat: While fighting machines is a masterpiece, fighting human enemies feels repetitive and clunky by comparison. Typical Open-World Side Activities: Some of the side quests and collectibles follow standard, repetitive open-world tropes that can feel a bit like filler. Basic Inventory Management: The inventory and crafting system can feel a bit tedious to manage during long play sessions. Final Verdict: 9/10 Highly Recommended. A phenomenal blend of unique sci-fi storytelling and addictive action-adventure gameplay. If you haven't experienced Aloy's journey yet, it is a definitive must-play on PC.
The Horizon series is everything I feel like gaming should be, and what the community has lost a lot of over the years. In fact, it's one of the few games where I saw the original ad for Horizon: Zero Dawn and thought 'that looks amazing' and playing the game actually lived up to the hype and presentation. It's an all around solid game from the story, to the (real people) voice acting, the lack of annoying or game breaking bugs, the control responses, and the tutorial which gives information as it's needed instead of being info-dumped on you at the beginning and then forgotten or hard to find. The new player information is integrated into the story as you go and it's super easy to find later. Much of it feels intuitive even if it's not immediately obvious. It's also one of the few games where I completed the whole thing, and did so without feeling overwhelmed. I not only give this game a thumbs up, I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone who loves RPG/Story-telling, but also loves action/adventure games. Pros: - Beautiful, full, and Immersive open world that doesn't feel overwhelming. - Excellent story and voice acting. - Controls make sense (I play on keyboard mostly, but have also used a controller). - Immersive tutorial (which helps with remembering necessary things later). - Easy to find help info - It's fun to play and doesn't feel like a chore to complete. - No annoying or game breaking bugs. It's very solid. - Good crafting system for upgrading weapons and outfits. - Ability to customize some items. - The different tribes are well thought-out and interesting. Also the female protagonist that feels completely natural in her world, is capable and confident and doesn't need a savior companion to help sell it, and isn't dressed like she's going to a swimming pool or club instead of fighting for her life. There's no BS jiggle physics or anything unnecessary and objectifying. And the fact she's female isn't called out in a showy way or shoved in your face like "look, we did this thing for you, feel glad" like some games do. Cons: I can't really think of any that aren't me problems like learning the best way to take machines down and such. :) I'm definitely a fan of this series and look forward to more from this group of folks.
This game is phenomenal but Sony and PlayStation no longer deserve our support. The death of physical ownership is the death of gaming and gaming preservation.
after literally decades of gaming by now it's increasingly harder to get excited or even impressed by a game. but oh boy this one really pulled it off. i really don't want to bore you with the details of why and what is so great about this game and where the few problem spots may be. if the trailers and screenshots peak any interest whatsoever you should just grab the game and go in blind. it's mighty impressive and an experience you won't forget anytime soon. guaranteed!*
* legalese gibberish goes here
93 hours to finish the game including the expansion while doing & seeing absolutely everything it has to offer. and i mean it. add another 40 hours to get 100% achievements unlocked including beating the game on ultra hard difficulty and new game+. but as usual i was way overprepared (hello OCD!) and it was considerably less difficult than you may think. also i'm really good at gaming with lifelong practice. obviously! 10/10 total banger of a game!
