If you have the complete edition, you do not need this one. With the same hardware, the FPS drops significantly. Yes, the quality might be better, but the performance is awful. Even in HFW (240FPS) I have better performance than here (70-90). This is just ridiculous. Rather play the original game.
Overall Rating: Recommended An absolute masterpiece of a PC port I had a fantastic time diving into this world. The world design is stunning and incredibly fun to explore, and the combat kept me hooked the entire time. But honestly we need to talk about the Decima Engine man what an absolute beast! The level of detail they managed to cram into this game while keeping it perfectly optimized is mind blowing. I played this on a GTX 1650, and it ran incredibly well. If you are worried about performance on budget hardware, don't be. Great world, fun combat, and legendary optimization. Easily worth your time
To preface this review, Horizon Zero Dawn is a fantastic game, in my top 3 of all time for sure, however, as much as I'd like to recommend the remaster due to how visually stunning it is with the engine and features from Forbidden West, I cannot. This port is not stable, In my earlier review i mentioned that in the 6 hours of playtime i had, 2.5 of them was troubleshooting amid kernel level crashes every 10-15 minutes, I have managed to solve that issue (no thanks to playstation/nixxies support not replying to any of my emails/support requests), and can now play the game in a somewhat stable state only crashing once every few hours or so. '-showlinkingqr' in steam launch options, as well as moving the game installation from my secondary ssd to my boot drive seem to have mostly resolved the crashing issues. Though, it has taken a lot of time and trial and error, and the fix i found may not work for everyone. It is for that reason I cannot recommend this game until either the support improves, or a stability patch is released.
Top 5 open world RPG I’ve ever played (and I’ve played over 25). Aloy as a character was amazing to play as. There was something about her that made you actually care about what you did in the game rather then most games were you play as a strong masculine semi truck the devs call a human. Other than that the world is alive and vibrant and the story is incredible. 9.5/10 better then HFW (especially not the burning shores dlc🤮)
This version of the game is an absolute mess, with tons of bugs, mostly visual, but now we get bugs like: - Getting stuck in rocks, dead machines, etc. - Transmog is busted causing all kinds of issues particularly with Shield Weaver - Audio issues abound including sound just cutting out randomly - Arrows sometimes go extreme right - Massive massive pop-in sometimes right in front of the character Sony knows all about these issues and did absolutely nothing.
shortly said if you play a lost of open world game this game are too amazing for story mode and environment, cinematic scene, beautiful world in this game. Every scene like a desktop wallpaper. i really enjoy this game. also i play old version of this game and currently i play this game because of how update and improve are batter than older version. so i recommend to play and enjoy this beautiful action adventure game. Feel the new world.
One of my all time favourites. Played this with my dad on a ps4 slim during covid. Genuinely one of my most adored games of all time
If I could put "somewhere in the middle" as a Steam review, I would for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Since it's either a yes or no, my answer for this after 17 hours in no. On paper, this should have been a knockout success and a favorite for me, based off the games I've played previously and loved. I kept playing and waiting for it to "click", but that moment never came. The voice acting and writing was pretty rough and caused immersion break a lot. The world is beautiful, the concept is interesting, the combat and creatures are cool, but all combined, the execution of it just fell flat for me. Watch some gameplay trailers and if it still looks like it's for you, grab it on sale.
An absolutely wonderful game reinforced by a terrific remaster. I'll just say that you're doing yourself a disservice as a gamer by not playing this game.
