About

Frostpunk 2 elevates the city-survival genre to a new level. Take the role of a Steward and lead your city through a cascade of calamities taking place in a postapocalyptic, snowy setting. Build large city districts with their string of endless needs and demands. Navigate through conflicting interests of factions that populate your metropolis. As the needs of the city grow and factional power at its core rises, only you can steer the society towards an uncertain future.

The world is overtaken by an ever present winter, which makes expansion of the city the only way for the survival of mankind. In order to grow, the metropolis needs resources like coal and oil, just like its citizens require food and warmth. In Frostpunk 2, it's your job to tackle this never ending circle of supply and demand.

The number of your citizens steadily grows, making the task of governing them and satisfying their demands all the more challenging. As the Steward you will have to maneuver carefully across the interests of many groups inhabiting the city.

People of your city want to have a voice in how you run things. Each faction has its own ideology and ideas for the future, yet they also have one thing in common - insatiable thirst for power. Choose your allies in the Council Hall wisely.

Make tough life-and-death decisions as you allocate heat across your city, supported by new research topics and heat-oriented laws. Choose districts that need the most warmth with the help of the Heat Management system with a detailed temperature overlay.

The story of Frostpunk 2 introduces a multi-chapter saga set in the frozen wastes. Spanning across the life of the Steward this campaign lets you feel the burden of leadership as you take the responsibility for thousands of lives. At the same time, the sandbox mode called Utopia Builder with infinite play time leaves you room for boundless social and infrastructural experiments.

Frostpunk 2 comes with a comprehensive and versatile modding tool. FrostKit will let you create your own maps, models, and scenarios inside the game. Now, only your imagination can limit the destination your city is heading to!

Frostpunk 2 feels overambitious in how it wanted to expand the functions of Frostpunk 1 and ended up with poor execution. The game does not gradually introduce elements to you, ala 1, but instead throws everything at you at once with low to no tutorialization. For beginners the game also sort of feels like it punishes your for exploration and experimentation and seems to expect you to follow an invisible golden route in order to succeed. Would reccomend Frostpunk 1.
The game is fun and all, but the optimal meta is quite obvious, reducing the challenge. More importantly, despite me doing everything perfectly and managing to have all 3 factions opinion of me at the highest level, the game had a hard trigger of discontent purely for narrative... From praising me like I'm a god to rebellion in a few days for no actual reason... Makes me feel like min-maxing (the whole point of a strategy) is useless.
Where the first game emphasized immediate life-or-death decisions, Frostpunk 2 explores the complexities of long-term governance, ideology, resource management, and societal conflict. The result is a deeper and more ambitious experience, though one that may not appeal to everyone who loved the original. The core gameplay revolves around expanding districts, managing resources, researching technologies, and balancing the demands of competing factions. Unlike the first game, where citizens largely followed your decrees, society now actively pushes back. Few games create atmosphere as effectively as Frostpunk 2. The frozen wasteland remains beautiful and terrifying, with massive storms, endless snowfields, and towering industrial structures dominating the landscape. The narrative focuses on humanity's transition from mere survival to civilization-building. Questions about progress, equality, authority, and technological advancement are woven naturally into gameplay decisions. Rather than presenting simple moral dilemmas, the game frequently forces players to choose between multiple imperfect solutions. The writing is excellent, and the evolving political landscape makes each campaign feel unique. The visual presentation is stunning. Cities feel enormous, alive, and constantly threatened by the harsh climate. Detailed lighting effects and weather systems create an oppressive atmosphere that perfectly complements the game's themes. Frostpunk 2 successfully expands nearly every aspect of its predecessor. Instead of repeating the original formula, it transforms the series into a sophisticated political city-builder where governing people is often harder than surviving the cold itself. Players seeking deep strategy, meaningful decision-making, and a richly atmospheric setting will find one of the strongest city-building games of recent years. Those expecting a straightforward continuation of the first game's survival mechanics may need time to adjust, but the ambition and execution are difficult to ignore. A compelling and intelligent evolution of the Frostpunk formula that turns survival into a battle of politics, ideology, and the future of civilization. 新dlc打完了。从首发到现在快三年,从头到尾只有两个字:失望。四个字就是极其失望。本来打算洋洋洒洒写个几千字大倒苦水,算了,就这样吧
Frostpunk 1 is one of my favorite games ever made. Frost punk 2, was a game that I thought I'd love, however I've only come to dislike key aspects of it the longer I play it. The way that faction interactions are managed, combined with forced events, ultimately makes the game simply un-fun. As an example from my last playthrough, I had 'revered'(maximum) trust status, and complete satisfaction among the various factions present. Then the scripted event triggers, and suddenly I'm in an outright civil war, 3/4 of the factions have gone from "I love you" to "I hate you", and the violent faction is murdering people openly in the streets. So I agree to set them up with a fully furnished city of their own, they can all go live there, and do their own thing; and I spend the duration of the period building the infrastructure and supplying them with everything they could want, along with repairing the damage to each faction(even the openly hostile one now thinks fondly of me, yet remains hostile for...reasons). Good right? Wrong. Most of them decided to leave, however literally 20 members refused to depart from the original city, and continued to maintain an indefinite conflict on the outermost exploration depots, until a scripted event triggers, and these 20 individuals that are somehow still maintaining a civil war by themselves(and who by the games own metrics, actually like me), storm the capital, and force the game to end. You're now kicked back out to the main menu to reload and try again. Keep in mind that this was a faction of 784 people, out of a total population of around 56k, down to 20 individuals. This diminutive faction still somehow maintained a disproportionate representation in the council, by virtue of it being a faction, so the game forces them to have representation. It's like the devs had good ideas, and then catastrophically dropped the ball, and then kept fumbling the ball repeatedly, never to pick it back up again. Oh, also all the bugs and softlocks, and even hard locks and crashes that are present are a real turn off. For example if you agree to the scripted event to pull workers out of winterhome once you've gathered 40 cores, then they simply evaporate, and you need to reload. Instead you need to disregard what the game tells you to do, open the build menu, and select to build the structure on the generator, and then you can pull the workers out. Another example is that if the game tries to auto save while you're building, then it just freezes, and you need to exit the application entirely, and then reload from whenever the previous autosave was, due to the failed save attempt.
DO NOT BUY! this game should be named something different and shouldn't even be considered sequel to the first game. the city planning is completely taken away from you with the "tile building system" the game forces you to focus more on the laws and council meeting that happen so often you cant even really focus on the resource aspect of the game. all of the life has been sucked out and the game is not fun at all and shouldn't even fall under a city builder or survival game anymore. more just law making and council meeting sim at this point. one of the very few times a game has added way to much busy work stuff to a game and way to much micromanagement. never thought I'd say that but yeah this game did it all wrong and you should just keep playing the first one.
玩法太复杂了,玩法和一代区别很大,全是政治斗争了,不喜欢
Too many bugs and glitches still in the game after all this time. I literally softlocked myself in the story for playing "too good". Unless the devs care to patch their game Im not recommending this to anybody.
