I really tried to like this, I really did. Dialogues are interesting. Mini games are horrible. Understading game mechanics pretty much requires googling. Combat is just awful and unresponsive. All women cat-walk and have tits out because average video game. Movement, at least on gamepad, is quite literally broken and snaps directions. Lock-on system gets blocked by a little bit of grass sticking out of ground. I put myself through a lot before abandoning games, and this has pushed me too far.
The Witcher 2 is often the forgotten game in the trilogy, but it still offers one of the strongest stories you'll find in the RPG genre. Compared to the first game, it moves further away from the original books and establishes its own identity, which works surprisingly well. The gameplay is a major step forward. The addition of traps, and crafting system gives combat much more depth and encourages you to prepare before difficult encounters. One thing I didn't like, however, is the lack of armor and weapon upgrades. Since you're constantly replacing your gear, it's hard to stick with a look you really like. The game is also full of easter eggs and references to other franchises which adds a lot of charm to the experience. Combat and boss fights are a huge improvement over the first game. Battles feel more dynamic, challenging, and rewarding, making the gameplay just as enjoyable as the story itself. While it may not receive as much attention as The Witcher 3, it's absolutely worth playing and shouldn't be skipped...
The Witcher 2 is one of the most underrated RPGs I've ever played. It often gets overshadowed by The Witcher 3, which is understandable considering how successful that game became, but I think that causes a lot of people to skip The Witcher 2, and that's a mistake. I absolutely loved it. The story is fantastic, with political intrigue, difficult choices, and consequences that actually matter. In fact, some of the choices in The Witcher 2 feel even more impactful than in many modern RPGs. The game isn't afraid to put you in complicated situations where there is no obvious "good" answer. Geralt is great as always, and the characters surrounding him are memorable and well written. The world also feels darker and more grounded than many fantasy RPGs, which gives it a unique atmosphere. One of the things I appreciate most is that the game doesn't waste your time. The adventure is more focused than The Witcher 3, with less filler and a stronger emphasis on the main story. Every chapter feels important, and the game constantly moves forward. The gameplay hasn't aged perfectly, and some mechanics can feel clunky today, but the story, world, and choices more than make up for it.
günümüz standartlarında biraz hantal kalsa bile kesinlikle boss dövüşlerikarakterleri ve kerhaneleriyle unutulmaz bir oyun
Somehow this feels inferior to the first game. The original Witcher had its own set of problems: it was very janky, but that was a charming old-school kind of jank, and the grim viscous atmosphere was absolutely superb. The formula of this game, however, is: traverse claustrophobic tunnel locations (those climb/jump animations last forever!), endure clunky combat (hit, roll, hit, roll, get hit in the back, die), and watch another cutscene. Gameplay here is absolutely abhorrent. And bloom, so much bloom! What is good, then? The story. The voice acting. And Triss Merigold content that could make a fortune on OF. I made it to the end of Chapter 1 and called it quits. Maybe I will finish it to enjoy the story someday, but the gameplay is so bad I would prefer this to be an interactive fiction rather than an attempt at full-scale RPG.
I bounced off this harder than I expected, mostly because I love The Witcher 3 so much. The Witcher 2 is not a bad game. The writing, world, characters, and political setup are all clearly strong, and I can absolutely see why someone who is okay with older RPG friction would love it. But going backwards from The Witcher 3 is rough. The controller feel is clunkier, the combat is jankier, and the environments feel much more closed in. What I love about The Witcher 3 is that sense of wandering, seeing something in the distance, and just riding off to investigate. This game feels more boxed in and rigid by comparison. It is not quite full eurojank in the Gothic or Risen sense, but it is leaning enough in that direction that I found myself wanting to play something else. If you can handle the older combat and more confined structure, there is probably a great RPG here. For me, it made me want to replay The Witcher 3 instead.
The first game is really good, from the story to the mechanics, old, but good. the map was easy to understand, things were kinda confusing, but not even as close as this game is. witcher 2 is one of the most confusing game ive played, the map from the menu is horrible, theres hardly any indicator of enemies. the quests are super confusing, the games doesnt give you hints about where you find certain enemies, certain objects, where to craft some things.if it had something like ''in the south of that place you might find this and that'',it would be better. the gameplay without mods is pain, with mods is playable. 15hrs in and already unninstalling and jumping to the third, sadly. ive played dragon age, skyrim,WOW,lineage, and other rpgs, and none were really confusing.
