Was not able to play the game at all due to ubisoft connects incompetent and unecessarily difficult login system... No matter how many time I tried my account was immedietly suspended Complicating a simple login system for a game we want to play offline/singleplayer is one of the dumbest decisions made.
I don't think the game is bad but the head bobbing is killing me. I maxed out fov and disabled motion blur which did help a little but not enough. It's not worth the headaches and nausea. There should be an option to turn off head bob or better yet stop putting that garbage in games.
It works great on the steam deck, just launch once on desktop mode so uplay updates properly
Far Cry 4 wastes no time throwing you into the action. What begins as Ajay Ghale's simple journey to fulfill his mother's final wish quickly turns into a fight for survival in the middle of a civil war. Going into this after finishing Far Cry 3, I was impressed by how much the game builds upon what came before instead of simply repeating it. Kyrat is a fantastic setting that feels completely different from the tropical islands of the previous game, and that change of scenery helps make the experience feel fresh from the very beginning. The story does a great job of introducing its conflict early, and before long you're choosing sides, meeting memorable characters, and carving your own path through the country. The gameplay loop is still unmistakably Far Cry, but nearly every part of it has been expanded. There are more weapons to experiment with, new vehicles to drive, dangerous wildlife around every corner, and enemy encounters that keep exploration interesting. Liberating outposts, climbing bell towers, hunting for collectibles, and earning experience all return, but the addition of the Karma system and dynamic events across the map gives you more reasons to wander off the beaten path. It constantly feels like something is happening nearby, whether it's civilians needing help or enemy patrols creating unexpected firefights. It's a formula that remains incredibly addictive, and after dozens of hours I still found myself saying, "Just one more thing." I ended up spending around 40 hours with the game and enjoyed nearly every minute of it. The achievements are generally straightforward to earn, although a handful being locked behind DLC means I won't be chasing a full 100% completion. Thankfully, I also had none of the launcher frustrations I experienced with Far Cry 3. The game runs perfectly fine through Steam, while signing into Ubisoft Connect is entirely optional if you want a few extra rewards. Overall, Far Cry 4 feels like a natural evolution of the series—keeping everything that made its predecessor so enjoyable while adding enough new mechanics and a memorable setting to make it worth the journey. If this trend continues, I'm excited to see what Far Cry Primal has in store next. —The Ember Archives https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45601239/
Tried to play it the first time. Told me my account was suspended due to multiple failed attempts to log in. Followed the link for the support, told me to rest password, still the same. used another email to create a new account, still the same error. Gave up, refund pending.
In case you want to play it on the Steam Deck - I’ve personally not been able to launch it. Couldn’t get past through the Ubislop launcher at various stages. Edit: I switched to Proton 9 and finally launched the game. Why the game won’t launch on newer Proton versions I’ve no idea. Maybe if your products are good enough more people will buy them? Making life harder for your customers is a privilege reserved only for those whose games people will buy no matter what. Not Ubisoft. But those business school jackasses won’t read this anyway.
I bought Far Cry 4 through Steam expecting to play the game, but instead I was greeted with an "Account Ownership Issue." This is my first time purchasing the game, and somehow Ubisoft's system thinks I don't own it. The game itself may be great, but Ubisoft's account and DRM system completely ruin the experience. Paying customers shouldn't have to spend hours proving they legally own a game they just purchased. What's even more frustrating is Ubisoft Support. Instead of investigating the issue properly, they repeatedly send generic troubleshooting steps, ask for the same logs multiple times, and avoid answering the actual question: which Ubisoft account is linked to my Steam purchase? The support process feels unprofessional, slow, and disconnected. Every response looks like a template rather than someone reading the case. Customers are left doing all the investigative work while support keeps asking for more files without explaining why. I bought a game, not a technical support subscription. Until Ubisoft fixes both its account linking system and the quality of its customer support, I can't recommend buying this game through Steam.
i was so excited to play this game, then after i saw the ubi**** connect, i was totally disappointed, and i knew it was going to be a bad ending.... Why the hell would you ever need to log in an account on a SINGLE PLAYER GAME? like it doesn't make any sense... So before doing all of that, i left far cry to download overnight, because of how bad my internet is, i woke up this morning so much hyped to play the game, launched it, the ubi**** connect appeared, i was like oh god this doesn't look it's going to end up well, and it is. after i logged in, waited for the update and stuff, then it tells me that they can't verify the ownership of the product, i thought it was a technical bug, i relaunched the game again, same thing happened, and i was like "wait they're not joking about it :sob:" immediate uninstall and refund request, ubi**** has always been here to disappoint me and several people...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mla0f2kuomE I really enjoyed this entry. The Himalayan setting is beautiful and offers some cool verticality with the grapple hook and wingsuit. The main story about a civil war and the people fighting for power is pretty nice and keeps you interested. Underneath, the gameplay is a classic, chaotic fun shooter with plenty of things to do and unlock. Overall, a very solid open-world game that is definitely worth playing.
