I'm writing this review after having completed my 5th playthrough of the game, some 6 years after the 4th one. 17 years old, as old as Ezio himself in the opening sequence, but Assassin's Creed 2 has lost none of its charm. The locations, the excellent score, Ezio, the modern day storyline, the parkour, it is all still great. It remains a gaming classic, the one that kicked the franchise into higher gear after an innovative but ultimately stiff first entry. However, it is far from perfect. Frustration crept in at times. Parkour is a double edged sword. After having played hundreds of hours in the RPG games, I was both amazed at how much more engaging the old parkour system is, but also a bit aghast at how sensitive it remains. The tolerance for locking onto objects is a bit too narrow, causing lots of jumping from roofs. It doesn't help that the camera can move independently from you and affects where you're aiming. The lack of parkour down is also a major gap in the game's design. And yet, it is far more interesting than the mindless system in the games we've had over the last 10 years. Detection, combat & fleeing are also not as good as they could be. Detection happens too quickly, especially by rooftop archers (of which there are far too many as the game progresses). The combat does not feel fluid and quite unsatisfying. And fleeing takes too long as guards keep up quite easily and because other guards that are patrolling are both everywhere and instantly in hostile mode. The rooftops offer too little solace, as there are many rooftop archers that likewise keep you spotted, and other guards are all as much parkour gods as Ezio. Fortunately many of these issues are refined over the course of Brotherhood & Revelations.
senin ben kontrollerini sikeyim
THIS IS GAME BETTER THAN THE OTHER ASSASSIN'S SERIES
Not gonna lie, this is one of the best Assassin's Creed i have ever played. The role, the story, even the combat. This game !!!!DESERVES A REMAKE!!!!, not a new game. I really hope the Assassin's Creed Ezio TRILOGY gets a remake. !!!!!!!!(EZIO AUDITORE DA FIRENZE)!!!!!!!! (Next Game AC Brotherhood)
DON'T BUY THIS GAME IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CONTROLLER i made the mistake of buying this game with no controller, and have been more or less unable to play. I've played it before, so I'm not to annoyed, but to any new players, this might ruin the game for you.
Gameplay: 7.5/10 Assassin's Creed 2 brings massive gameplay innovations and is incredibly fun compared to the first game. There is a lot more side content to dive into, though some missions can still feel a bit monotonous. The villa management mechanic is a neat addition, but unfortunately, it is far too easy and lacks challenge. However, the Assassin’s Tombs and Templar Lairs absolutely steal the show, offering fantastic and challenging platforming puzzles. Overall, it's a great experience with excellent core gameplay! Visual: 7.5/10 Visually, the game is a treat if you appreciate old-era Italian aesthetics, allowing you to admire beautiful classical architecture throughout the cities. However, because it is an older title that hasn't received a modern graphical overhaul, the visuals simply cannot keep up with today's PC standards. It definitely shows its age, but the historical atmosphere still manages to carry it through. Soundtrack: 9/10 The soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece and easily the single best part of the entire experience. The music and audio support are incredibly well-done, hitting all the right emotional notes and perfectly capturing the game's atmosphere. Replay Value: 5/10 Unfortunately, this game does not hold up well for a replay. Aside from annoying bugs and a complete lack of modern support from Ubisoft, the game does not offer a mission replay feature, and there is absolutely no post-story progression to keep you hooked. It becomes incredibly monotonous once the main campaign ends, making it a definitive "finish and uninstall" type of game. Story: 8.5/10 The story delivers an incredible narrative, marking the beginning of Ezio's journey and his rise to becoming a master Assassin. However, opting for the Deluxe Edition seems to muddy the waters a bit; the pacing feels overly rushed in the final sequences, which ironically makes the game feel dragged out and boring toward the end. But if you look at the narrative as a whole and truly absorb it, the story is simply too good to be forgotten. Overall Thoughts In conclusion, the game is a mixed bag that shines brightest during your first playthrough. While the incredible soundtrack, memorable story, and innovative core gameplay make it a classic worth experiencing, the outdated visuals, rushed Deluxe content, and total lack of replayability heavily drag it down. Because of the lingering bugs and zero post-story progression, it ultimately becomes a monotonous experience once the credits roll—making it a masterpiece well worth completing, but definitely a "finish and uninstall" game.
