My first tales game I got into, knew nothing about the tales series and got this game out of curiosity. Easily one of my top 5 games in terms of storytelling and top 3 RPG games I ever played. This game breathed and felt like a traditional fantasy JRPG, it doesn't feel like a typical hero adventure story as it revolves around the protagonist Velvet who is far from being a hero and is more of a personal revenge quest that involves some rich character development from her and supporting characters which I felt was so well done. She as a character I really liked and was a key driving point of how good the story was with the stakes and world building. Combat wise I was impressed, there's a lot to learn and understand how the combat system works but not too complex, but what made it challenging was the difficulty as it was my first playthrough I went on "Hard" mode which wasn't the highest difficulty as there were two more higher difficulty levels, but on this mode I definitely felt the struggle and died numerous times in battle from Boss fights to common enemies while in turn made it much more rewarding each battle I win. The lore and power systems are really cool and fascinating and was really nice how its incorporated in combat and the story. Overall a 10/10 game experience for me and cannot recommend it enough for anyone wanting to get into the Tales series or is looking a great JRPG experience.
fantastico
Juegazo increible

magilou ok jokes aside the game is a step up from zestiria in the same way buttered toasted bread is a step up from simple bread. this game has a much more interesting party though the map design still sucks. it's not as bad as zestiria but it's still pretty bad. the highlight really is the crew here because the walking is as bad as zestiria's, and is much more boring than the older Tales of games. thankfully, some solid character arcs make up for it. still worth picking up and playing if only for that!
By far has become my favorite of all Tales. The story, plot, characters (i love you Eizen), gameplay, battle system, and the general vibe of the game. I also adore that it shares the same world as Tales of Zesteria, and gives so much insight to that game. And all the little annoyances of Zesteria is totally fixed in this game. As much as I do love every Tales, and the older ones all have a wonderful charm to it, the art really signifies the deepness of the story's meaning.
one of the best Tales series i've ever played..
