Haven't finished it yet but this is basically the Dark Seed sequel I always wanted. Environments are breathtaking. Puzzles are well designed and interesting. Combat is hellish and painful, bordering on frustrating but... befits the mood.
AWESOME
This game was interesting. I want to promote great artwork and assist publishers in enjoying this field. However, nothing I say beyond this point will be in favor of Scorn. Scorn is a chore at best. It is a poorly-directed art project with little gameplay. Many users will mention "puzzles." There is one puzzle in this game immediately near the beginning. It is a simple parking lot jam puzzle. Takes <8 minutes (and that is a VERY liberal estimate). Really, Scorn is an art book with no game direction whatsoever. There is no story, no guidance, and no repetition. I did not find the game interesting whatsoever. It was a slog with forgettable passageways, forgettable interactables, and forgettable enemies. Frankly, I am in total confusion why combat was included whatsoever. I am confused what the meaning of this was intended to be whatsoever. You will find no gameplay and no deeper meaning, but a brutally boring walking simulator. Half of your gameplay, and sometimes more, will be viewing the animations. Genuinely, the game ends with you holding the W key for a whole minute. No, I am not lying. Further more, why is this 29 GB? It doesn't look good; it is recycled textures for 4-8 hours. This is, at best, gore and violence for the sake of such things. I cannot commend such a project. If you're a completionist, I would wait until this one goes free. It is inevitable.
Fezes! De graça ainda tá caro!
This is undoubtedly Geiger's best work in a video game. The atmosphere, the design elements, the art direction, the sound, the gun mechanics, and even the lore are epic. First, I played it on a friend's PC. Then I bought it and played again. Finished the game completely this time, and my only complaint is that the game ended and I'm left wanting more. Seriously, we need more Scorn. Can't believe we may never get Scorn 2. Guess I'll just have to play it again and again. Still, I'll give it a 5-star rating. Scorn certainly achieved it. It's an easy recommendation for anyone who's into psychological, body horror, and traumatic game experiences. Even if you are not into these, you should still play it anyway. Now that we are done with the positives, there are a few negatives as well. The main issues is its repeated enemy types. You will be facing the same two type of enemies most of the time in Combat. Next is animation speed. Some are fine I would say, even the healing one. However, the gun changing controls and gun swapping animation is the worst part. There are some minor negatives as well, but majorly it's the lack of enemy variety and animations for me.
Beautifully made, just throws you right in there
Magnificamente nojento.
