I got it on sale for 4$ and still wouldn't recommend. Absolutely nails the aesthetic, it's fantastic and I think it'd be a great walking sim/puzzle game. However, there is combat and it's AWFUL. Maybe I'll pick it up and suffer through it again, but I found the combat thoroughly unejoyable. You could watch a playthrough and get the same experience as playing it, but without all the frustration of how stiff the combat is.
Less of a game, and more of an amazing piece of art. Loved it the whole way through.
This game—no, it should be called a work of art—but you absolutely must turn off motion blur, otherwise it's super dizzying. The game's style is similar to the Alien series: a race's worship of reproduction leads to its own extinction. The game's guidance is almost zero. Just treat it like watching a long movie; it's full of artistic feeling.
Scorn is a unique and grotesque puzzle game. Not sure how else to describe it. The game's art direction and environmental design are what make this game a must play if you are a fan of the tags above. Exploring a grotesque world inhabited by malformed beings/monsters while navigating and utilizing biomechanical structures/machines made from flesh, bone and muscle...these abandoned factories built for processing beings? I think? (I'm honestly still not sure) or a decaying city...it's a world that is both horrifying and impressive. *Contains spoilers* The lack of dialogue adds to the game and for more than 85% of the game you're probably going to be wondering what exactly you are doing/supposed to be doing. The narrative that you kind of piece together yourself centers on a civilization that suffers horrifying consequences through the obsession of sex/reproduction to achieve/evolve into a hive-mind society?(Still not sure). If anything above piques your interest you'll likely enjoy Scorn. It's an easy game to sink 7-10 hours into.
Adventures in Evil Vagina World
