Great story and gameplay, amazing music.
I enjoyed closing the oblivion gates in order to invade anor londo
Purposefully convoluted, tedious, and actively trolling the player, "for the story".

Cool little game, I hope nothing bad ever happens to the characters
Right off the bat, this game rocks. It's one of the few "Nier" perfect games I've played in my lifetime. Now, I hear many people gush about the story and the themes of this game, and while I do think those are very good elements of this game, that's not the only thing that makes it great. Nier: Automata is not just a glorified interactive movie with handholdy gameplay and an over abundance of cutscenes and walking segments, like the majority of major titles these days. Nier: Automata somehow manages to beat out the competition with its deep themes, artistic beauty, thought provoking concepts, and interesting characters, while also being self-aware of what it is first and foremost: a videogame that's not afraid to be fun. The dull moments in this game are few and far between, as there's always some new enemy encounter, action set piece, or gameplay mechanic around every corner. While it's not without its flaws, like some repetitive segments, tedious open world mechanics, and abstract lore, it makes up for it in spades with gameplay that goes from deceptively simple to white-knuckle high-octane chaos as the game progresses. So, all that to say, this is not just another movie game that's such a "super profound masterpiece"; it is genuinely, at the end of the day what all games should be: fun to play.
