Terminator: Resistance, is a first-person shooter set during the 'Future War' scenario that was only glimpsed at in the iconic films, 'THE TERMINATOR' and 'T2: JUDGMENT DAY'. The machines are destined to lose, but at what cost?

9/10. Just like RoboCop: Rogue City, this game is a glorious, defiant middle finger to soulless, bloated AAA cash-grabs. Teyon proves once again that a passionate Double-A studio who actually respects the IP will always make a better movie game than a massive corporation. This isn't just a great shooter—it is the absolute best piece of Terminator media we have received since Judgement Day in 1991. Instead of trying to force the franchise into a generic modern mold, Teyon built a perfect realization of James Cameron’s original Future War. The atmosphere is suffocatingly perfect. Sneaking through the ruins of LA, hearing the iconic metallic clank of the soundtrack, and seeing the terrifying red glow of a T-800's eyes in the dark is an absolute dream come true for fans. The Annihilation Line DLC is also a absolute must-play. It adds a tighter, high-stakes story starring Kyle Reese that bridges the gap beautifully and features some of the tensest firefights in the entire game. Pros: + Impeccable Future War Atmosphere: The purple/blue plasma fire, the searchlights, and the sound design are 100% movie-accurate. + Satisfying Progression: Going from a weak survivor scraping by with scrap metal to a heavily-armed resistance fighter melting T-800s with plasma rifles feels incredible. + Annihilation Line DLC: A phenomenal expansion that elevates the narrative and action to a whole new level. Cons: - AA Budget Limitations: Face animations are stiff and the human AI can be a bit simple, but the sheer love for the franchise completely overshadows the jank. Final Verdict: If you are a Terminator fan, buy this immediately. Don't let the mediocre reviews from mainstream journalists at launch fool you—this is a love letter written by fans, for fans.
Maybe not the best of shooter games, but it is a propper Terminator game. A mix of exploration, shooting, stealth, and crafting. I'm happy this game exists, same as Robocop.
If you like generic action games from 2005 you'll love this. I bought it on sale for $10 and I very much regret it. The massive amount of positive reviews are from players who love the Terminator series. I love the series as well, but not enough to pretend that this is in any way a good game.
This game is awesome. In a sea of slop and easy cashgrabs, this truely is a labor of love. There is some jank, as is expected from an AA developer, but the game nails all the core aspects that count. Story, music and art design are excellent. The voice actors are very good, only the main char falls flat sometimes unfortunately. The gameplay is similiar to fallout (down to the lockpicking game) and it works very will in the setting. But u dont have one big open world, instead u get small open levels with main and side objectives. Terminators feel intimidating and encourage a stealthy, resourceful approach. Regular weapons cant make a dent in them, and even with laser weapons, u should be craftful and use everything u have to get an advantage (traps, sneaking, explosives, ...). In short, get the game and support a developer who deserves ur money.
A really great game that faithfully captures the atmosphere and feeling of the movies.

I'm positively surprised by Terminator Resistance : Bought it a while ago for long winter evenings but checked it out just recently. Very mature "old-schoolish" title combined with a good storyline along the T-800 Lore, characters you can identify with, coherent intuitive gameplay mostly (only the hacking minigames are somewhat annoying, guess a matter of taste, I generally hate them no matter which game). GFX are surely not State-of-the-Art but as the gameplay itself is solid it didn't bother me at all - serves its purpose ;) DLC Mission incl. new Infiltrator Modus are not falling behind. I had good fun and will play it again. Compared to Robocop which I played before, Resistance is much better, more tactical, more immersive. Robocop in comparison appears like " Cmon guys we copy the Terninator Infiltrator Mode and let's build a Robocop Game around it, right ? " tbh. Only bad news : After finishing the campaign I was automatically looking for a Terminator Resistance 2 (COOP !) , which is already in development (-ish ?)...? and continuously postponed...for several years now ? That sounds not good...quiet disappointing cause that would be exactly the thing that the franchise needs...after a very good start with this one. Yeah, that's it : Recommended !
In the sense of gameplay and story, there's nothing special about it. It's a pretty standard RPG linear Stealth/FPS with what "feels" like open world in certain maps, so you won't be blown away by anything new. It's pretty barebones in terms on relationships with NPC's, scavenging, weapon upgrades, etc. It gives Fallout 3 vibes without the ability to openly explore the world. However, if you are a fan of the Terminator franchise, it's fantastic. Atmosphere is perfect and really makes you feel like you're in a movie. The dread of Skynet is always hanging over you as you explore the large maps where you have to hide and sneak around Terminators and gives you goosebumps when you're spotted. The sound is phenomenal as well and feels like they took sounds straight from the movie. Decent gun play and terrifying enemies. When you see an HK flying you feel the need to run and hide. So if you know nothing about the franchise or aren't really a fan, you probably won't be too impressed. It'd be about a 6.5/7 out of 10 for you. But for fans of Terminator films who want a post judgement day game, 8.5/9 out of 10.
