Hawaiian Heat: Yakuza Chaos Vacation
Bro, I booked this dream trip to Hawaii thinking mai tais, beaches, and zero drama. Next thing I know, I'm Ichiban Kasuga, broke ex-yakuza turned accidental hero, teaming up with the legendary Kazuma Kiryu while the island tries to murder us every five minutes. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth turned my relaxing getaway into the wildest fever dream ever. One second I'm snapping pics of palm trees like a basic tourist, the next I'm suplexing goons in a turn-based brawl. What the actual hell, Hawaii?!
Epic Island Brawls and Job Shenanigans
You wander gorgeous Honolulu streets that look straight out of a postcard until random thugs jump you, then boom — turn-based combat kicks in with wild job classes letting you switch from street thug to breakdancer to chef mid-fight. The party runs around positioning for back attacks and special moves while the camera spins like it's filming an action sequence. Side quests pull you into everything from managing your own tropical island resort to collecting bizarre Sujimon creatures that battle like a twisted Pokémon showdown. Story missions shuttle you between Hawaii and Japan with cutscenes that go from heartfelt chats to absolute insanity involving cults and betrayals. Exploration rewards you with minigames including karaoke and arcade cabinets straight out of the classics. Combat arenas change dynamically based on location. It all flows like one long unhinged travel itinerary you can't pause.
Sunset Paradise Meets Punchy Mayhem
The beaches and city vibes in Hawaii hit different with that perfect mix of chill tourist energy and sudden yakuza ambushes that had me screaming "not on my vacation!" Combat feels way smoother and more strategic than older brawlers like Yakuza Kiwami, with flexible positioning and flashy job abilities keeping every fight fresh. Dondoko Island is pure genius — building your dream resort while befriending weird locals feels like Animal Crossing crashed into mafia rehab and I couldn't stop playing. New characters slot in perfectly with the crew, delivering banter that swings from hilarious to heartbreaking in seconds. The dual story with Kiryu and Ichiban delivers emotional gut punches especially for long-time fans, mixing nostalgia with fresh chaos. Sujimon collecting and battling is stupidly addictive. Side content never ends with crazy variety that makes you forget the main plot for hours. Hawaii itself is recreated so lovingly you half-expect a real travel brochure to pop up mid-brawl. Kiryu's chapters feel like a heartfelt legacy send-off, wrapping up arcs beautifully.
Plot Detours and Deluxe Wallet Drains
The main story sometimes meanders like a drunk tourist who took the wrong bus, piling on too many wild plot twists and convenient resolutions that left me yelling at the screen during the slower Japan sections. Pacing hits awkward bumps early on with cutscenes dragging before the good stuff ramps up, making some chapters feel like filler between the epic brawls. New Game+ and extra endgame challenges being locked behind a deluxe edition paywall feels like the hotel charging extra for the ocean view you already paid for, super scummy when the base game already teases that post-game grind. Ichiban's KO instantly ending the fight is annoying as hell when your party has healing spells, forcing restarts that kill the flow during tough spots. Some later bosses and difficulty balance feel underwhelming after all the buildup, like the villains talked big but folded too easily. The tone flips between serious drama and silly side stuff can feel jarring, pulling you out right when you're invested.
Final Luau Showdown Verdict
This "vacation" wrecked me in the best way — beautiful islands, insane fights, and characters that feel like old friends getting into the dumbest situations. I laughed, cried, and questioned my life choices the whole way through, exactly like joining the yakuza by accident. The side stuff alone could eat your entire summer, blending heartfelt moments with pure meme energy. If you love wild RPGs like Persona, pack your bags immediately. At full price it's worth every penny for the 80+ hours of chaos, though skip the overpriced DLC unless you're addicted — base game delivers the real infinite wealth of entertainment.
Grade
9/10 — This masterpiece nails the vacation-gone-wrong vibe so hard it deserves near-perfect marks, minus a bit for those greedy DLC locks and pacing hiccups that kept it from absolute paradise. Mahalo for the memories, Infinite Wealth — you absolute legend!
this game has everything, maybe even better than Y0 and one of the best JRPG ever made
As someone who finished every yakuza game i couldnt get through this one , its plain borring ... the combat is not good the abilities make no sense and you get so menny of them at one time you dont get the chance to figure them out as you go and they clutter the menue a lot. The story is super weak . There is a stupid abount of sidestuf that is basicly only go to point and listen to a conversation and it adds no value ... Another thing that realy bothered me is the subtitles are plain wrong a lot of the times .the character says something completly different.
LA CABRA Y EL CABRILLO 🐐🐐
