I can't even play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game because of some Nvidia ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Excellent game, novel concept and well implemented
I don't recommend this game. Buggy and frustrating. I may come back to it at some point, but I don't know. I've never rage quit an Arkane game but I rage quit this one. I love Dishonored and played a ton of it. This game took just about everything I loved about dishonored and made it less fun. Only 2 powers at a time, give up a power to try a new one, only 3 weapons at a time, nail gun sucks. Powers take FOREVER to get and upgrade. If you're trying to figure out a level and find secrets you can easily spend an hour or two in each area, a full run through could be 4-6 hours, but you can't grab all of the powers in one run through and actually keep them, you have to drop some. AI is BUGGY. Really buggy. Sometimes the enemies can't see you behind a low wall right next to them, other times they can see you through walls or behind them for some reason (even while sneaking, and somehow even while invisible?). I lost hours of a run because the AI all saw me through a wall and swarmed me. Next run, a landmine right next to an area exit. Take the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of cheapshot enemies in Elden Ring, mix it with a roguelite, really buggy AI, less exciting versions of the Dishonored powers, all while having to memorize a dozen of vaguely associated bits of information just to unlock a door and you get Deathloop. Characters are annoying. The banter gets obnoxious after a while. Having the main character constantly tell you not to try to pick up ammo you're full on is irritating. Gameplay balance doesn't feel fully baked. Difficulty spikes are unpredictable. The art is great and all, but it's not really that fun to play. Several areas are designed to kill you without giving you a chance and that feels like a cheapshot. The reason so many roguelikes work is because a full run-through usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. Having a game where one run-through can take several hours, just to have the game cheap shot you is a level of frustrating that not even the souls games have put me through. Tried Fia 4 times. NPC saw me through a wall, they swarmed and killed me. Next run she shot me through a wall. Next run hacked her dumb reactor. She still blew it up. Last run, she set it off, and while fighting her the game crashed. I really wanted to like this game. Arkane made some amazing games, but this one just doesn't measure up to the others, thought it has all of the materials to do it with, Cool concept, great environment, lots of unique mechanics, but with the bugs, especially the AI, it's just really frustrating. Buggy AI in a stealth game is kind of the worst problem it could have in my opinion. Can't kill the immersion faster than having an AI spot me through a wall while I'm sneaking. It could have been a lot of fun but it feels like they didn't respect the player's time when designing the main gameplay loop. I do not want to spend 3-6 hours on a run just to lose it all at the end before I can infuse the slab I just got. I may play slower than other people, but I like to explore in Arkane games, that's a big part of why I play them. On top of those issues it feels like the loop concept kind of just got in the way of a good gameplay loop. If they fixed the AI I would maybe recommend it. I imagine whatever business entity owns it now wouldn't do that this many years after its release. I'm sad it wasn't as good as I was hoping. Their other games are great.
Good fun game, worth one run through when on discount. If you can get it for $20 def worth it. Wish more people played to play protect the loop more.
THIS SOOO UNDER RATED, IT'S NOT A JOKE
Plusieurs fois.
