I have a 1440p monitor with a 5070 ti and a 9800x3d with 32 gbs of ddr5 ram and the game still always crashes
runs like ♥♥♥♥! unreal engine slop skin-walking around with the rotten oblivion pieces. thank God for steam refunds! i didn't even pay for this, but thank you G*sh. bethesda is a bloated rotten homunculus of a company - creatively bankrupt and INCOMPETENT. they just laid off the lead figure behind the creation engine, a man creatively involved in their games (suggesting fallout 4 start pre-war), and loyal to the company for decades. GOOD, he was a bonafide IDIOT - should have included a bullet in his rejection letter... but not everyone's cut out to lead. when bethesda crumbles to ash and they PAY me to acquire their company, i will make SURE to never release another one of their IP's again, FIRE everyone, except todd - my press secretary, rename the company to something that isn't a stupid copy of some stupid town in some stupid state (maybe something like BWC: bethesda was conquered), and we will make GOOD GAMES
Nah, nah, nah... it just feels completely soulless. 1. Give the game a pretty new coat of paint. 2. Get people excited because Bethesda's reputation - especially when you factor in their legendary older titles - still hasn't completely run out. 3. Do the bare minimum - don't even fix bugs, somehow make the combat worse than the original, don't improve any of the weaker gameplay systems, and don't add any meaningful quality-of-life features. I mean, sure, they can always say, "It's just a remaster - you get to experience the game exactly as it originally was." But besides the fact that it isn't even true... just imagine what this remaster could have been if they'd actually put some love into it! They moved the whole thing to a new engine and still didn't modernize anything. Alchemy, for example... you've got 40 potions in your inventory, but only three of them are actually worth using. That's the kind of thing they could've reworked. There are so many little things like that. I'm seriously disappointed, Like... really disappointed. This was nothing more than a Bethesda cash grab, knowing full well that the fans were going to buy it anyway. Man... this could have been something truly special.
Abandoned quicker than my father abandoned kindness for child me.
Bethesda came out today to announce a bunch of plans and game updates. They showed if a game does not have the Creator Store or some kind of monetary value, they will not offer update/patch support. This is just scumbag Bethesda doing the same ol' stuff. Get the OG or wait for a HEAVY discount on this game.
You see the term "rug pull" used for this game a lot. It's a fitting description, and it's unfortunate. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is an extremely faithful remake of the original Oblivion. Functionally, it's an Unreal Engine frontend wrapped around the original game. Yet unlike the original release, earlier entries in the series, or even later Bethesda titles, this version offers no official mod support. The developers never released modding tools, never addressed the game's severe performance issues, and, from the outside looking in, never seemed to meaningfully support the game after launch. It makes you wonder what happened behind the scenes. Did Virtuos really simply decide to abandon one of the most successful releases of 2025? Did Bethesda move the team onto another project before post-launch support could happen? Was there some kind of licensing or contractual chaos that prevented modding tools from being released? We don't know. Whatever the reason, it's almost certainly hidden behind NDA hell. All we can judge is what we see as players: a remaster with incredible potential that appears to have been left behind. Whether that's Virtuos' decision, Bethesda's, or the result of circumstances we'll probably never hear about, it's a real shame for a remaster this good.
This game runs like hot garbage, no matter how long you spend tweaking settings. Even if you have a decent rig. It feels like a scam in some ways.
NICHT AUF DEUTSCH! DAS GEBE ICH WIEDER ZURÜCK!!!
Game is a shiny piece of trash and doesnt even work, dont waste your time and especially your money...how far Bethesda has fallen, sad to see.
