This game does what a remaster truly should do, it keeps all of the quirks of the original, while updating graphics to fit modern computing power. It is as perfect as the original, which means that it is quirky but fun. Of course if you want to look at it from a simple size perspective, before you simply label this game as a money grab, consider the sheer size of the game itself compared to the original, the remaster is order of magnitudes bigger. Does Bethesda want to make money... of course they do that is why they make games, however the sheer overhaul by the developers and work it took to make this game shine in a new light, with its original quirks, I feel earns them a right to make money. So is this game perfect in the perfect since of the term, no. BUT is it as fun as when I first opened up the original? Yes and for that reason I would say rank this based on Nostalgia and a level headed approach rather than assuming the worst.
i was naive child for thinking they wouldn't immediately abandon this. i will not be buying ES6 lmfao.
This game's fate puzzles me to no end. This game was very promising when it was released about a year ago with promises of new features and performance fixes. One year later this game still runs like ass. Last update was some months after the release. Apparently Virtoso studios had major layoffs which is why this game's updates stopped. As such, this game essentially became abandonware. Not only that but there's no support for mods. Bethesda games have always thrived on active mod communities, and yet this game's devs stated that modding is not supported. If this is what oblivion remaster was like, i am not feeling hopeful for future Fallout 3 remaster.
I HATE UNREAL ENGINE I HATE UNREAL ENGINE I HATE UNREAL ENGINE I HATE UNREAL ENGINE (just play the OG)
Hard crashes the whole system on PC xbox and playstation since release with no updates a year later. Totally broken and unplayable regardless of hardware unless you get lucky but given the issue presists on all platforms its pure luck if it happens to you or not. I'm pretty sure it killed my RAM also.
beautiful but terribly optimized, 20-30fps outside, decent in caves. not really playable.
Shameless remaster. no updates, no fixes and no modding support. Todd Howard is a piece of ♥♥♥♥.
你们这些用虚幻5做游戏的厂商有一个算一个全他妈该死
I dunno why people say this game is poorly optimized, it runs fine when I look directly at the sky or ground where nothing is being rendered! Jokes aside, ignoring the atrocious performance, yes, even on computers that should be able to handle it, it's a good remake that sparks a similar feeling of wonder and "Woah, what's that!?" that the original did, and by god does it look gorgeous (aside from the ghosting and upscaling artifacting etc typical Unity stuff). Oblivion was always my favorite game in The Elder Scrolls series due to its natural and realistic color grading while remaining fantastical and seeing a remaster/remake 20-ish years later is seriously awesome and SHOULD be an immediate indicator of a long-running labor of love but due to this ONE reason it becomes unreasonable to expect players to play it in earnest. It really is that bad. In its current state though, even though it makes me sad because of the excellent art direction, I can't recommend this over the now TWENTY YEARS OLD original. The fact that they kept the quirks and bugs of the original game can also be a turn-off for someone who isn't willing to put up with it (Personally, I think it's a super cool thing to do, especially with the risk that comes with it, it's very charming). If they find a way to fix the game's performance issues, which feels unlikely considering that Bethesda appears to have left this game in the dark ALREADY, this would easily be one of the flagship fantasy RPG experiences and an EASY 10/10 game. It just falls so far from the mark that I can't in good conscience recommend you spend money on it. All power to you though if you have a top of the line rig.
Играть строго с модами на всяческие оптимизации и исправления багов
