I wish Velvet was my mom.
Besides the story everything in the game is extremely boring (gameplay, loot, map, etc...) I had to stop midgame
Every battle in this game: one button assigned to your general good combo. Another button changed per battle to hit as many enemy weaknesses as possible. Mash your general use combo or weakness hitting one if you bothered with some R2 sometimes until the enemy dies. There is a large amount of mechanic bloat that makes things a little confusing or convoluted to understand, but ultimately figuring these things out just makes battles slightly faster. Swapping characters does help a bit but it's not enough imo. The skits and characters are interesting, I honestly enjoyed them a lot. Each member of the main party I was interested in their personal story and creed, with the only one that I ended up losing some interest in was Velvet. The main plot is kind of a meme, almost feels like a parody on edge (at least up to 25hrs in). Cutscenes with any amount of action are a little rough, some events are a little funny how they're framed (everyone stands still as villian walks/runs away, etc). Overall I was mixed on a lot, but the gameplay wearing on me after a while is less forgivable than a story I don't care for even though I enjoy the characters. I tried twice to get through this game, stopping ~20 hours in and this time ~25 hours in for the same reasons.
It gets better after 6 hours but not by much. For the most part it’s a needlessly enormous empty walking and backtracking simulator. There were so many times where it egregiously stretched out the walking sections for no reason other than to inflate game time, especially in the second half. The combat system has a lot of depth but not a lot of fun, even when utilizing it to its full potential. The story is mid. Very repetitive. A lot of fluff. The characters have far too few good moments, their designs are the best part, but that's just about the only thing that stands out across everything. I do appreciate however that they were brave enough to have a protagonist that isn't clearly a good person--though personally I found Velvet's design to be the worst of the bunch. Furthermore, they rereleased the game with what’s basically just minor updates (mostly accessibility features) but no graphical improvements and slapped the remaster label on it with no way to upgrade at a discount. Like it's literally just a hotfix but released separately at full price which is insulting to everyone who bought the original. Most notably, the remaster allows you to completely turn off encounters and increases base walking speed by 20% as well as making minibosses actually reward exp. These things aren’t something I care too much about but I just found it funny that they’re aware of how boring their game is. 4/10
比曙光好多了
I disliked the writing very heavily. Could not keep playing.
