Prodeus is a first-person shooter of old, re-imagined using modern rendering techniques and technology. Experience the quality you’d expect from a modern AAA game, designed with retro aesthetics and gameplay that invoke the tech-imposed limits of older hardware.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Kind of a big deal
Imagine that DOOM (1993) is your grandma's burger recipe: it's nostalgic enjoyable, and even though you've had better, it has that special place in your heart. Then we have DOOM (2016), which is that dedicated burger joint that's incredibly successful and delicious, if a bit overhyped. Then there's Prodeus, which is that burger food truck outside of your grocery store that claims to be based on the originals, while integrating elements from the modern ones. When you try it, you can see that it has the same ingredients and preparation but it's noticeably worse in every way. It's an ok meal if you have nothing else, but it won't beat any other decently-made burger you've had. That's Prodeus. GOOD THINGS: + The action is fast-paced and visceral + Gory, raw, and explosive in terms of gameplay + The graphic style is pretty good, and looks nice in-game + A decent arsenal, with some weapons, like the Swarmer, being pretty fun + Some levels are really good, and offer a good amount of content + It has some really good moments, especially in the combat-oriented arena-levels THE BAD: - It's so similar to DOOM that it's bordering on rip-off territory: you got your ersatz imps, pinkies, barons of hell, and lost souls, and they play exactly like the ones in DOOM. No clever twists or inversions; the same. - While the game is easy to clear normally, it was a chore to 100% due to several points of no return. Why are these a thing? It dissuades players from clearing the enemies and exploring. - It makes the same mistake as Ion Fury, where some enemy spawns (which are required for 100%) are obnoxious and hard to locate (looking at you, Meltdown) - Weapon trials are this game's equivalent to DOOM's rune trials. They, however, are nowhere near as fun, and kind of annoying to complete since you have to split between doing it fast, and completing the items. - It doesn't do anything different or special, it's kind of really basic I can't say this is a bad game. But I personally did not enjoy it as much as some of the other BoomShoots I've played. I'd even go as far as to say it's the "worst good one" I've experienced. If you're a big fan of the genre, you might enjoy it, but I can't say it's anything over "Okay". 6.3/10

Really fun, amazing style
To preface this, wait until the dlc comes out later this year. Prodeus is a fantastic game, but with a major issue and missing content that the dev has promised to fix alongside the release of the dlc. The visuals and aesthetic are fantastic, hard industrial with lots of variety in the second half of the game. Great soundtrack, great sprite work, the designs of the weapons are heavy and powerful, and their sound effects compliment them. I would say it's lacking in enemy variety, and on higher difficulties the vast majority of enemies are babies that pose little threat while others have homing attacks that one-shot you. Although, level design helps keep things fresh in spite of the limited enemy variety. Now the major issue aforementioned is the awful checkpoint system, you'll hit a checkpoint and when you die, it will respawn you there, as expected, except for some reason all the enemies you killed remain dead. In spite of how much I do genuinely love this game, this is without a doubt the worst checkpoint system I've ever seen and kills all challenge in the game, dev has promised to implement a proper save system alongside the dlc, now the other issue of missing content, by the end of the campaign, if you bought everything from the store, you will still have 4 empty weapon slots, 2 melee weapons that aren't in the game, and 2 plasma weapons that are in the game, but only available in the level editor. I might be alone on this, but it rings profoundly dumb to have weapons implemented into the game, but nowhere to use in the base game, either they should've been in the shop or not put into the level editor. Both of these issues are going to be addressed with the dlc, which is why I only recommend getting this game after the dlc has come out. Tldr, fantastic game that's so close to perfect, but has some glaring issues that hold it back a LOT, which is why anyone interested should, and I cannot stress this enough, wait until the dlc comes out to get it.
Fun mechanics, combined with the boomer shooter atmosphere creates a very addictive game. The audio is on par with that of Mick Gordon (ok maybe an exaggeration). However, the game becomes very repetitive very fast, with you having to replay levels to get more ore fragments to unlock more guns. If there were more variety in enemies and weapons were given to you like in other FPS titles, it would be more enjoyable. Still very fun though.
Fun retro style boomer shooter. Cheap and always fun to hop onto to and blast things real quick. Recommend for anyone who is a fan of boomer shooters.
Already got the Platinum trophy on PS5 when it was released back in 2022 and i just HAD to get the game again on PC, because it's just THAT great, probably the best boomer shooter in the market. Everything clicks, from the kick-ass OST from Andrew Hulshult, the gunplay, the level design, the gritty, dark visuals, etc. Also, i dare to say that Prodeus did the whole "old-school FPS" better than Doom 2016 and Doom: Eternal did; still, i love both of them, especially Eternal. Now, people are making a big fuss over the checkpoint system, but i can't understand why. To me, the real challenge is to kill all enemies/finding all secrets and ores in each level. Hopefully we'll have news for the upcoming DLC campaign, it's been a while now.
