My favourite retro-shooter. Prodeus is essentially DOOM (1993) remixed, and that's a good thing. The gameplay, enemies and environments are all clearly heavily DOOM-inspired. It has great gunplay, fast, brutal action and gorgeous graphics. Highly recommended to anybody who likes FPS's and for DOOM fans it's a must-play.

В целом не плохая игрушка, в стиле Brutal DOOM. Если фанатеете от олдскульных шутеров, где надо искать ключ-карты и тупо стрелять по монстрам, то вам понравится. Увы, меня игра не смогла затянуть на подольше, чем 2 часика.

amid evil meets doom 2016
I would've complained about the sheer amount of visual clutter that the game has and writing it off as a alright boomer shooter upon completing the first world, only to find out it got further content through portals at the end of the first map, which I thought was alright, standard DOOM inspired stuff. The later levels are WAY better, way better pacing, actual difficulty and creative environments. Still the visual clarity is taking away from the game, really cool at first seeing the amount of gore and stuff only for it to obstruct what you're shooting at or seeing the projectiles coming towards you, this ended up getting me killed the most. That and some stinky enemy spawns. Locking the movement abilities with the ore is a strange design choice imo, you need these at the later stages. Solid game though, make sure to have auto-run enabled otherwise it doesn't feel right.

One of the best if not the best boomer shooter by the time of writing. This is like Doom, Brutal Doom to be exact, full of blood and guts and demons to slay. Prodeus is the game that took the route I wanted Doom to take, to keep it simple but make it crunchy. In alternative world Prodeus could be Doom 3. I also disliked the finishing moves in the new age of Doom as I want to blast the enemies to pieces, not to melee them every time. Levels are short and sweet, I never felt lost or confused and there's a map for those that feel disoriented. There are lots of guns to pick from and swapping them feels snappy and useful, as all guns have their time and place. There's shop where you can purchase weapons etc. with the currency you can find from levels, some in plain sight, others in secret places. I'm on a quest to play lots of different boomer shooters and Prodeus clearly rises above the competition. Highly recommended.
