Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It is unfortunately a bit of a mixed bag. Although I am more positive on it. There's a lot of cool things. The level design is good overall and I thought it was pretty great for the levels in the second "zone". Some pretty cool ways where they change the overall level as you go through it. The art design is pretty neat. I liked how a lot of the enemies and weapons have this claymation-with-a-filter-over look as opposed to straight up pixel art. The actual movement/gameplay is very smooth, but the later game upgrades of double jump and dash really should have been standard kit. I really liked the weapon trial missions where you have to speed through an obstacle course with a specific weapon. They were surprisingly very fun. Unfortunately that's all the good I have to say. The following are some of my issues. - Not necessarily a thing against this game specifically, but I find the idea of having to reload your weapon in a boomer shooter to be anathema to the arcade feel that is supposed to be inherent for these games. - Proteus probably has the most anemic weapons I've ever used in a boomer shooter. The sound and look of the weapons are pretty good, but the damage that they output doesn't match that presentation. I'm not sure if it's an issue with enemies being too tanky (which they are) or if it's a bullet spread issue where my bullets are just straight up missing (which for something like the minigun or the shotgun it could be). This becomes exacerbated when the game introduces even tankier enemies later. - I wasn't a fan about the weapon loadout. I'm fine with primarily adhering to a classic loadout (i.e. pistol, minigun, shotgun, rocket launcher, etc). I like the idea of weapons having a secondary fire, but most of them felt bland to me. The only stand outs were the super shotgun's full salvo and one of the chaos gun's railgun mode. The former only stood out to me since it's the only way for the super shotgun to actually feel good in this game. There's nothing "super" about it otherwise. - Buying certain weapons or abilities like double jump sounds like a neat way to differentiate the game from others like it, but I feel that steadily giving it through missions (as it's done traditionally) would have been better. - It's kind of dumb to argue about a boomer shooter's story, but I wish they'd throw a little more of a bone. They tried to put in nuggets throughout the game with a couple sentences during mission select or a little journal blurb in a given level, but I wasn't feeling any motivation to go through these levels other than just for playing sake. I've played DOOM wads that felt better connected. - Making the majority of the later game enemies just be older ones but blue, tankier, and with new or much stronger projectiles made the later half of the game miserable at times. - The final mission was lame. No other way to describe it. If it wasn't for the achievement, I wouldn't have believed that the game was over after that. Overall, I enjoyed my time but I definitely felt like my enjoyment had reached it's limit after a certain point. Unfortunately, that point was well around the halfway mark. 6/10 for me - above average to good. I'll be down for a sequel if they iron things out.
If you want style over substance retro shooter this game is perfect for that. I would still wait to get it on significant sale because of very weird game design choices Prodeus has. Most of this mirrors what other negative reviews have pointed out. Save and checkpoint system forces you to either not care about the game at all with no player agency in anything or make it very frustrating long single segment run attempts at levels to get a proper challenge. For first time playthrough this is absolutely terrible no matter which one of these styles you want to go for. Yes, if you master the game, you might enjoy it more. Technically all graphics and visual effects make the game feel nice, but can be bad for visual clarity in massive combat encounters. Ammo pickup points in later levels have a flashing effect that will hurt your eyes. Meta level progression and shop upgrades feel bad how they are implemented. You have to replay older levels with new upgrades to get all secrets. You can't backtrack for secrets in most of the levels easily when you get to the exit. Secret exit that just boots you back to the over world hub map. Ammo and resources carry over from levels you enter or replay. Automap is clunky to use. Reloading interrupts gameplay sometimes. Possibility to waste your limited upgrade points on ammo refills. Invisible walls everywhere preventing you to explore properly. There are many more negative points in designs. Explosive weapons and some alt fires feel really great to use. Quad shotgun feels powerful with its alt fire. Plasma rifle has a great alt fire gimmick too, but becomes useless near end on open arenas. Also appreciate the better movement options that you can unlock even if dash feels a bit weak. Level design is quite nice. There are enough set pieces and layouts to traverse that give game its value to get through it. Main positive of the whole game, almost feels a shame these levels are inside Prodeus. Game also comes with level editor that I have not checked out if you feel like adding more levels in this weirdly designed game. If half of these issues get fixed I might reconsider my bad feelings for what the game currently is. Just very mixed feelings and there are so many retro shooters out there that do most of the things that Prodeus does, but just better.
Всем рекомендую! OLDскуллный шутан!

The game is really good. The combination of retro and modern is just amazing. I had a lot of fun while playing but there are a few things i don`t like: -The world map- its not a big issue but for me its a little annoying. -Some of the levels are kind of boring -THE WHOLE SHOP SYSTEM SHOULD NOT EXIST And there are the things i like: -The graphics and style overall -The soundtrack is very good -The gun play is satisfying -The weapons are interesting -Most level designs As a person who likes doom games this one is worth a shot despite the cons.
