IT'S LIKE DARK SOULS EXCEPT GOOD

I first played Bastion 11 years ago, did not like, and stopped playing. I recently completed it because I felt I may have missed something and I have to say that Bastion did not age well. The soundtrack is great but short; songs quickly start getting repeated. The art style holds up but is not too standout today. The narration is fun with a good voice but gets annoying like a friend who makes commentary on literally everything. The story is incredibly predictable to the point it makes it feel trite. The combat is really vapid and parts of the game feel unfinished such as constant enemy reuse or some enemies entirely lacking animation. I'm sure the game was really noteworthy for it's time but unfortunately, I am playing it 16 years late. The game tries a lot of ideas but fails to execute on them. The most notable one being telling story through gameplay rather than cutscenes. Most egregious in that regard, there are sections where you get exposition dumped over waves of enemies and it all feels so rote. The combat is just not interesting enough to make this type of storytelling work. Though it was cool to see how Supergiant would later refine this into what Hades is. The game had several small annoyances but for a 4 hour game, I don't feel compelled to write them out. Overall, I would pass on Bastion if you have no nostalgic attachment to the game like me. If you're a big Supergiant fan and want to support them by trying their older titles, just get the OST instead, it is more enjoyable.
This was one of my favourite titles as a kid and I never gave it a review back then but all I'll say now is that you should give it a go. Especially if you're someone that has only come to know supergiant games after Hades. It helps give a little perspective on their roots and you can see the DNA of their earlier titles still in their modern titles to this day. On sale I'd say its a title that shouldn't be missed and dispite the shorter run time, what is here will stay with me and hopefully mean something to you as well.
这俯视角的射击手感做得跟屎一样,近战手感也一般,可能还是有点老了这游戏
Its a piece of gaming history for this developer. Shows its age, gameplay is not too great but you can see the seeds of Hades. Short and meditive expierence. First playthrough is about 4.5h, but there is a NG+. Get only on deep sale!
The music is so good. As are the story, narration, and visuals. However, I did not enjoy the game part of this game very much, though I did play through it twice. It's hard to really pin down why I wasn't having much fun. The New Game + play-through was definitely more enjoyable, even with some of the challenges turned on. Something about the controls never really clicked for me. The large variety of weapon, skill, and bonus choices are very nice, though, and make it more likely any player will be able to find something that suits them. I meant to play this game a decade ago, when it was new, just never got around to it for some reason. I guess I tried back then, but that not-having-fun thing made me set it aside until recently, when a minor injury got me going through my steam backlog for a bit. I guess I'll throw it a negative review, even though I think it probably would stand up well for many players, even if it is also a little dated now.
Juegazo la historia estuvo muy buena y los graficos, no estuvo complejo el platinarlo solo los desafios pero luego de eso esta bien en dificultad muy agradable
