Reviews
O primeiro jogo da Supergiant é um ótimo jogo para quem gostou dos outros (Transistor, Hades 1 e 2) e está sentindo falta de uma excelente narrativa, trilha sonora fantástica e uma arte muito bonita.
A tight little indie experience. Cool narration mechanic, nice art, good music, and a satisfying fantasy-esque story and worldbuilding. The addition of more-challenging content, like the dream sequences, is appreciated.

Vale a pena pegar numa promo, jogo bom e curto. Da pra zerar em menos de 4h
A game everyone should playthrough ones. Loved the gameplay, story, music and narration.
I enjoyed playing it, but I cannot fully recommend it to others. Here's why: The art style is charming. The voice-acting prominently features Logan Cunningham as ever-present narrator; there's a very good reason why Supergiant Games kept working with him. The mechanics are easy enough and offer a modicum of variation for different play styles. That's it with the positives. Now for the negatives: - Storytelling: the story fully unfolds as narration, sometimes with still images, sometimes during the heat of battle when you cannot focus on the voice. - Characters: the three NPCs literally never move. It wouldn't have been much work to give them some animation for a cut-scene, but this way they have the depth and appeal of cardboard cutouts. - World-building: you jump into different stages always looking for the McGuffin and getting out again. The overarching scenario is similar to the one in Supergiant's next game Transistor, but Transistor's world felt like an actual world; Bastion only has differently themed stages. - Soundtrack: the music is good, but doesn't always fit the mood and sometimes it just stops for no apparent reason. Neither of those are such a huge dent that you wouldn't be able to enjoy the game. I sure did, and as a completionist I even got a decent number of hours out of it. SGG already found their winning formula with their first game, but they still needed to refine it. Bastion just lacks in many areas you've come to love from their later works.
IT'S LIKE DARK SOULS EXCEPT GOOD
I first played Bastion 11 years ago, did not like, and stopped playing. I recently completed it because I felt I may have missed something and I have to say that Bastion did not age well. The soundtrack is great but short; songs quickly start getting repeated. The art style holds up but is not too standout today. The narration is fun with a good voice but gets annoying like a friend who makes commentary on literally everything. The story is incredibly predictable to the point it makes it feel trite. The combat is really vapid and parts of the game feel unfinished such as constant enemy reuse or some enemies entirely lacking animation. I'm sure the game was really noteworthy for it's time but unfortunately, I am playing it 16 years late. The game tries a lot of ideas but fails to execute on them. The most notable one being telling story through gameplay rather than cutscenes. Most egregious in that regard, there are sections where you get exposition dumped over waves of enemies and it all feels so rote. The combat is just not interesting enough to make this type of storytelling work. Though it was cool to see how Supergiant would later refine this into what Hades is. The game had several small annoyances but for a 4 hour game, I don't feel compelled to write them out. Overall, I would pass on Bastion if you have no nostalgic attachment to the game like me. If you're a big Supergiant fan and want to support them by trying their older titles, just get the OST instead, it is more enjoyable.
Kid's got a tough road!
