If you've never played Tropico 6 before, it's kinda like Civilization VI strategy combined with Cities: Skylines building, except the satire is cranked up way past max, choombatta. If you like both of those, or even just Cities: Skylines, you should definitely give at least the basegame a try. Also there's character customization which is very cool.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've been playing the Tropico series since the original back in 2001. City-builders used to be one of my favorite genres, dating back to the original SimCity, but in recent years I haven't really enjoyed them as much; I find City Skylines boring and the more recent entries into the SimCity franchise lackluster. That said, this is a solid entry in the Tropico series, staying true to the series' formula and feel. Instead of deviating from it's roots, like the SimCity games have done, Tropico 6 stays true to the franchise and just doubles down on everything. Bigger maps, more stuff to build, more stuff to do. I am highly enjoying it.
Hear me out: As much as I love estabilishing dystopia and city building, this game doesn't feel like it does that, or at least, not in a really entertaining way for me. And I played Cities: Skylines in the past, so I thought this would be a step-up from it. But Tropico 6 plays less of a city builder, and more like a City Tycoon, or like those mobile Idle games, but it tries to complicate everything in order to be ''fun''. As far as I reached, everything is just ''Maximise Production and earnings'', and it’s REALLY weirdly-playing. And shove some politics into it, and you have Tropico 6. Almost every building has some sort of it’s economy and efficiency, but when I combine it, it’s all just extra noise in the game. Graphics: Why do the buildings themselves look like that? Cities: Skylines is a 2015 game, and looks visually better to me than this. The only credit I can really give is the soundtrack, because it’s quite catchy, but I’d still prefer the ambient silence in Skylines to be honest. TBH I’m glad I got it gifted, otherwise I’d just refund it.
A fun city builder that doesn't take itself too seriously. There's a good range of difficulty for tryhards and casual players, and the Latin jazz soundtrack is great for setting the mood of ruling a Caribbean nation. The story missions do a good job of blending challenge and humor without leaning so hard on the bad jokes that it becomes intolerable. My only critiques of the game are that: 1) combat is largely relegated to putting down rebellions (a sign that you are ignoring the needs of your people) and almost entirely automated. Fighting ends up feeling like a chore instead of an extra layer of strategy. 2) I've only gotten a couple DLC, Return to Nature & Tropican Shores. While they're well done, they don't add a lot of content so they're probably best saved for sales.
Better than 5, less engaging than 4, but overall I'd recommend it on sale. It's a solid city builder with some gameplay issues and an above average amount of stuff that feels tacked on or pointless, and the soundtrack in the whole series is stellar. I've never bothered with any of the DLC because none of it sounds like it adds enough to be worth the price, even on sale.

Лучший симулятор карибского диктатора Строишь пляжи, воруешь деньги в швейцарский банк, обещаешь народу золотые горы и фальсифицируешь выборы под зажигательную сальсу. Идеальная игра. 10 Эль Президенте из 10.
