I like how I can recreate my region's rail network from before the auto industries destroyed all forms of public transportation they couldn't directly profit from
I think I have found the cure for my autism
Unintuitive game, with poor UI and game controls. More importantly, there's no guides or documentation anywhere. The game is unplayable in this state. I do not recommend buying this came!

Please add this game to MacOS, it will then be PERFECT!
Its very good, played for over 450 hours. I cant stop making railways over and over again for my city / country. The game does heavily need workshop mods for trains & rails to have more variety, but it isn't really a problem for me, as it's very easy to get workshop mods. Overall, really good.
I *am* a train nerd who wanted to play this game and recreate a real track network to simulate future changes to it. Got pushed back by extremely unintuitive controls for building tracks and stations, which are also very limited in the actual building mode and they do allow big flexibility, but only in editing mode (you can only build two tracks at a time, no more, no less, what?????) I really want to actually play this game one day, but not in this state. It feels like there is some playing style where the current editing mode works better, but I installed it with a specific purpose and I felt like I constantly had to gimmick or do various workarounds to do what I want. And if what the game expects of you feels like a workaround, that's bad design.
建议加入等高线设定,只用地面高度的铁轨直接穿过山脉还是太离谱了 It is recommended to add contour settings; it is still too absurd for railway tracks that only follow the ground height to go directly through mountains.
NIMBY Rails is a very, very fun railway building game and I'm happy to have sunk 80 hours at the time of writing into this game. It runs beautifully on both my desktop and weaker laptop that only has integrated graphics with 1,300 stations, 160 lines, and about as many trains. There are only two things I can actually say that are criticisms of the game: custom timetabling can be an issue if you want to switch line services as it will sometimes refuse to switch onto a service even if the stop the train is at is the first stop of the new service so the train will just sit there and block the platform as the pathfinding seems to mess up and can't figure out where the next stop is even if the main line editor can sus it out and track segments connected directly from station to station can break and split into two tracks or merge into one in some places especially if the track curves. If you've played City Bus Manager, the other game in the genre of "I turned OpenStreetMaps into a transit manager", NIMBY Rails and CBM fill different niches. NIMBY Rails performs better for those who want a larger network with a lesser focus on the prettiness of the game, CBM is better for those who want a smaller network with more detailed scenery as the game loads in more data from OSM so comparatively NIMBY Rails will at most load in the biggest landmarks of an area whilst CBM will load in street names, smaller landmarks, and more granular place data. I feel this game is phenomenal and I think it's a must-play for anyone who loves trains and public transport. I've sunk an ungodly amount of hours in and anyone with the same twing of autism as me would also sink an ungodly amount of hours into this game.
fun if you are a train persion
