I played Witcher 3 -> W1 -> W2 and I have to say, every game had its own charm that didnt make me miss the more modern W3. The only downsides for me were world design being a labyrinth (presumably for more seamless loading experience instead of the W1 loading screen at every point) and Geralt being a snail as far as his walking speed goes. Other than that, very much enjoyed how the game offers you 2 paths that change the middle of the game completely. I only played one path, so my next playthrough will be the other path and I am looking forward to it. Also has native Linux builds. I wish W3 did as well but oh well, one can hope for native Linux support in the Witcher 4.
🐺👍🏼
I only say no cause Steam has no middle ground. I love the Witcher series as much as anyone else, but if it was possible to skip a game it would be this. Combat is by far the most tedious and difficult thing 'bout this game. And that is going to take up most of the run time in a video game. And one where you hunt beasts. Game also doesn't support 16:9 so you'll have black bars on the side. And I personally didn't have any major issue running the game but in chapter two there is a big space that just runs like it's in UE. A few random crashes. I would say you play this if you like the Witcher series already. You might also might want to yourself a favor in difficulty and just play on Easy so bypass the incredibly clunky combat.

Censored. Australia has an R18 rating now but CDPR will not submit the game for re-certification. Big L.
Wenn man die Klassiker nachholen möchte, ist das Spiel noch immer gut spielbar heutzutage.
