About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

Reviews
Tried to write a review. Hit the box to attach specs. Review closed without posting. Thanks Steam. Game is way to mediocre to try and justify it's price tag. Even more so when considering it is very demanding on both the CPU & GPU.
I usually really like these sort of games but this one really didn't grab me. It must be because building your character wasn't that interesting. Usually, I can overlook boring companions and boring story if I'm at least interested in building up the character. Made it through Outer Worlds 1 ok. Not really sure what changed with this one.
An enjoyable New-vegas-like similar to the first game. I think the best way I can describe it is that if you're the kind of person who enjoys making skill checks or getting a unique option because of a perk and you find the campy scifi aesthetic charming then this is the game for you. Also: take dumb at character creation if you can, it has a relatively small drawback and gives you tons of dialogue options.
Played a bit too long to qualify for a refund. I just got done doing a Mass Effect trilogy play-through & wanted some more space action, so I thought I'd give this a try. I had played the first Outer Worlds and didn't care much for it, the cartoonish nature of the lore/worldbuilding just didn't suit my narrative preferences. I read from several reviewers that part 2 took itself a bit more seriously & though that may be the case, the narrative hook was completely uncompelling for me. Overall, I found the first few hours of this game to pretty much be a mess. No real reason to care about the protagonist or the struggles presented by the story set-up. Just felt rushed & sloppy all around. Aside from the story & lore being not to my tastes, the camera controls and character movement feel very imprecise to the extant that I was looking for mods to fix my issues within 45 mins of booting it up. Ended up uninstalling the game at just shy of 3 hours playtime. I may swing around back to this game at some point but it will require unprecedented levels of boredom.
BLUF: This is a clunky game with abysmal scaling and controls, mediocre story and NPCs, and an overall disappointment from the first game. I wish I could take back my almost 50 hours of gameplay and put them into the first game again. I really tried to enjoy it. I even forced myself to complete everything on the first planet after the tutorial, and explored some of the next two planets without direction to see if anything could keep me going. This game's mechanics really put a damper on trying to enjoy it. Enemies are bullet sponges, even on story mode with a third of my skill points going into weapons skills. It really detracts from the RPG experience if you must force yourself into a meta build on story mode difficulty just to feel like enemies aren't a slog to take down. On top of all of that, the companions are not memorable or helpful in anyway. They have no contributions to the game outside of combat or their basic companion quests, each of those seeming lackluster. The dialogue has me wanting to skip it all and environmental storytelling is so dry I stopped bothering to read notes or computer entries. Overall I'm glad I tried the game out, but I couldn't recommend this game at all and wish I didn't spend the money on it.
It's fine. Honestly the first one was better and this does so little new to necessitate a sequel. If you are desperate for more Outer Worlds, here it is.
Overall verdict: Competently (over)designed, poorly written, boring. It's a perfectly functional game with systems that work excellently together, if being a bit overly restrictive. They really want you to be a 'build.' Not a complaint per se. The game however is hideously boring, formulaic and extremely hideously written. If you can't ignore the writing, avoid.
The game is fun most of the time but as many other users I experienced the loss of all my save games. It does not have to do anythin with onedrive or any other stupid explanation you may find in forums. It is just a broken sync mechanism in the game itself. No matter what people say, it should work if the game creator offers it. Very annoying after 90% progress to loose it. DEINSTALLED.
Crashes regularly. The story has been fun so far but the amount of hangs or failure to even start has aggravated me enough that I'm just not going to play the rest, a shame..
