My favorite of the original trilogy, many choices, many ways to play, very good RPG and most importantly, it doesn't ask you to install the EA app to play the game, 10/10.
Playing it for the first time in my life, almost 18 years after the release date, I have to say: It's still a great game. Despite being TPP it's not a cover shooter. Works on linux which was a nice surprise. The story is great, makes me want to try out ME2.
Would rizz Liara T'Soni again
This game has one of the greatest main menu screens of all time. Gameplay is kinda cheeks. Definitely a product of its time. The story, writing, companions... all top notch. That's the most important part and something no other Sci-Fi Action RPG has been able to get right after Mass Effect 3. I recommend getting the trilogy via the Legendary Edition. The first game gets sime QOL improvements while remaining largely the same. It's definitely not an offensive remaster and definitly worth it while it's on sale. However, always good to have the option to buy this original version.
Mass Effect is a top 10er for me. Not the trilogy - specifically this game. None of the follow-ups really captured what this game did (though they are not bad!), and I'm genuinely hungry for more games just like this. This version of the game is a bit marred by weird glitches here and there, the DLCs not being integrated (although they are still able to be installed) and a largely abandoned modding scene, but it's absolutely worth picking up.
Нет в стиме ачивок а они есть!!!
It's good because the world feels real. You can make choices that matter. The characters grow a lot. The companions are well-developed. It has some problems. The combat can feel awkward. The game is slow at the start. The story is confusing for new players. The graphics and user interface look old. Even with these issues, it's a great RPG. The story is compelling. The characters are memorable. You have a lot of control over what happens. It’s best enjoyed for its story and world.
I love mass effect so much however I cant believe how poorly optimized this game is on pc and somehow the xbox 360 version is ten times better then it. The game crashes very often, there is no built in controller support. Not to mention getting both dlc's to work (which isnt hard) just silly you have to do extra work to get it to work. I do not know how you pc players have been dealing with this for years. If it wasnt for the pinnacle station dlc and the fact i make mass effect videos I probably will only play Mass effect Legendary edition from now on and I highly recommend anyone who thinks of getting this version to simply buy the legendary edition instead.
Обзор от человека, который половину игры провёл в лифте. Оценка: 9 лифтов из 10
Played and finished the game for the first time ever and it still holds up extremely well after all these years. Had a great time with it, minus a major graphical bug in two locations where all the character models turn into black blocks. The world exploration is very barren tho. Controlling the Mako wasn’t as bad as i thought after years of seeing people say it was a nightmare to control. Had a very easy time playing thru the entire game on KB/M. A genuine classic and I can’t wait to keep continuing thru the rest of the series. 9/10
