About
When you've been shrunk to the size of an ant, what was once familiar is now a wild, uncharted frontier. Traverse sprawling manmade spaces overgrown with nature with buggies that can fight alongside with you, uncover hidden secrets, and fight to survive in a world much larger than the backyard. The playground may seem familiar, but beneath its bright colors and towering structures lie mysteries hidden in plain sight. Are you ready to uncover them?
Survive, Adapt, Overcome
The world is relentless, but so are you. Shape your adventure with unique archetypes, each offering distinct abilities to match your playstyle. Whether you rely on precision, cunning, or sheer strength, you’ll need every advantage to survive against the threats lurking in the park.
Stronger Together
The perils of the park are daunting alone, but with friends, every challenge becomes an adventure. Work together to build, fight, and uncover the secrets buried beneath the grass. Whether you’re facing danger side by side or continuing your journey in a shared world, survival is always better with allies.
Walking is Bogus - Introducing Buggies
They scurry, they fight, and now—they help you survive. Hatch, raise, and ride your own insect friends - buggies! Saddle up and ride through the park, command them in battle, or have them help gather resources. The right partner could mean the difference between thriving and barely surviving.
Big Baddies of the Park
The park is home to creatures other than the bugs you know and love. AXL, the tarantula, and the Lizard stand as apex predators that demand preparation, strategy, and courage. The snake is a different kind of challenge. To master it, you will need to learn its patterns, ride it, and harvest its scales. And let's not forget about the bird. Every encounter makes you stronger. Claim rare materials, craft powerful gear, and unlock upgrades that push you further into a world built to overwhelm you.
Playgrounds
Survival is only the beginning. With Playgrounds, you can build your own challenges using powerful tools that shape combat, puzzles, and unpredictable encounters. Download, play, and vote on community creations to discover new ways to test your skills. The park is no longer just a place to survive. It is a place to create.
A Shadow That Follows You
The threat is always there—watching, learning, waiting. You don’t know where it’s coming from, only that it never leaves. The deeper you dig, the closer it gets. Some mysteries should stay buried, but it’s too late now. It knows you’re looking. And it’s ready. Every answer drags you deeper, every step invites something closer. You were never alone. You thought you were in control. You were wrong.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the sheer, unadulterated terror of being a trespasser in your own backyard, Grounded 2 is the game for you. Here is a brief log of how my co-op buddy (we'll call him Kevin) and I managed to completely ruin our lives. The Backyard Journal: A Descent into Madness Day 1: The Great Pioneers "We are gods among insects! Look at this grass! We built a beautiful three-story castle out of clover leaves and weed stems right next to a juice box. Unlimited hydration, gorgeous views, and a nearby weevil population for infinite snacks. Life is perfect. Kevin says he wants to go pet the 'big fuzzy ladybug' over by the oak tree later. I'm sure it’s fine." Day 5: Slight Setbacks "The 'fuzzy ladybug' was a Wolf Spider. It was not friendly. It does not want to cuddle. We lost three sets of armor running away, but we made it back to the grass fortress. Kevin’s therapist is going to hear about this." Day 10: The Siege Begins "Kevin made a mistake. A massive, catastrophic, unforgivable mistake. He thought he could 'kite' the Wolf Spider to our base so our spike traps would kill it. It didn't work. The spider walked over the spikes like they were a polite welcome mat. It is now parked directly outside our front door. Its front three legs are currently clipping through our grass wall. Every time we try to look out the window, we are greeted by eight giant, glowing red eyes of pure hatred. We cannot leave. This is our life now." Day 15: Psychological Warfare "Day 5 of the siege. The spider has not slept. It just vibrates against our wall. Occasionally, it makes a sound like a wet violin being dragged through gravel. We are surviving entirely on the three sour worms we had stored in a chest and whatever dew drips through the ceiling. Kevin tried to sneak out the back window to grab an aphid. The spider heard the rustle of his grass armor and slapped him back through the wall so hard his spawn point broke." Day 20: The Final Hours "Provisions are entirely depleted. No juice. No weevil roasts. Nothing but despair and the distant, rhythmic thumping of arachnid mandibles. Kevin suggested we eat our tier-one clover boots to survive. I told him I'd rather die with my boots on. We are currently staring at each other in the dark, waiting for the hunger bar to hit zero. I can hear the spider whispering to us. If you find this log, please tell my mom I hate Kevin." Summary Graphics: 10/10 (The spider's fangs look horrifyingly realistic up close) Gameplay: 10/10 (Excellent survival mechanics, highly immersive PTSD simulator) Kevin: 0/10 (Would not recommend playing with him) Buy this game. Just don't let Kevin pull the aggro.
I personally do LOVE this game, it's just very poorly optimized, I have the spec's to run this game flawlessly and it just runs like crap. I RECOMMEND ONLY buying this game when it's fully optimized or released, I love the first game a lot and was super excited to play their sequel, but after they added more to the game it started running weird. IT IS an in-game problem, it is not from my end, I hope this answers anyone's questions :) ( PLAY THE FIRST GAME, IT'S PEAK )
Spider
look, it's a great game, even if the "only new thing" is the fact that you can mount (which isn't true, btw). The mounts are a game-changer, because they don't just mount, they fight (either as companions or as a vehicle combat) and also make the gathering of materials a lot faster and more engaging. HOWEVER, the state of the servers is atrocious. My friend and I keep getting disconnected, rubber banding, lag spikes, you name it. We're talking about two different hosts/guests experiencing the same problems. I'll change my review once you guys get it under control.
