Ну и конечно же, как и в Tales of Arise, как и в Ni no kuni первом - последняя лока ♥♥♥♥♥♥ духота, - хотя конечно, в разы лайтовее чем в Ni no kuni.

Just finished my second playthrough of Berseria. For the last one and a half years, I have been playing a bunch of Tales games in the following order: Berseria, Arise, Xillia, Xillia 2 (dropped after 2h), Vesperia, Zestiria, Destiny DC, Graces f, Rebirth, Symphonia (dropped after 7h). I still want to play The Abyss and am probably going to do a replay of Arise. Hopefully, by then, we get a new Tales game. *Stares at Bamco... <.<* Anyway, back to Berseria. It was my very first Tales of in 2017 and, honestly, I didn't really enjoy it. Even now, on my second playthrough, the things I didn't like still bothered me. The Story & Pacing First off, the story. I'm not a fan of revenge themes. Plus, it's a slow burner and drags on and on without anything meaningful happening. Only in the last third does it get interesting; that's also the point where the party finally develops some kind of bond. This leads me to the skits. Most of them are so boring until that point that I skipped through them most of the time. This is in contrast to Zestiria's cast, which I really liked; all the members have such great synergy, and it's always fun to see them interact with each other. Visuals & Presentation A positive point is the graphics, which still look good even today in 2026. It's so much clearer, colorful, and better-looking than Zestiria—which just looked poor, had some weird dirt layer over the whole picture, and almost all the dungeons looked the same. The cutscenes are all well done, and you can see that Bamco paid more attention to the presentation aspect. Huge praise goes to Velvet’s JP voice actor. She did such a great job conveying the crazy emotional rollercoaster Velvet goes through. It's not that the rest of the cast does a bad job, but she just stands out that much. The Battle System The last thing I want to talk about is the battle system. I never fully enjoyed it, since it's kind of hard to get into a good flow. There is so much to it, and it's not really easy, in my opinion, to manage all of your resources. I usually struggled to build up souls, even if I attacked the enemy's weak points. A simpler system like the one in Vesperia would have been great. Hell, even the controversial system from Rebirth was more fun. Rating 7/10
One of my favorite JRPGs and Games in general ever made.
I didn't really like some of the other games in the series, but this one stands out. The story is solid. The characters are well written, and not just stereotype generic personalities for any given class. Everyone has a decent story arc and some real character development throughtout the game. It's still a JRPG though, so expect to sink at least a hundred hours in... That being said, a remaster is coming out. I didn't see major changes in presentation, but it promises quality of life improvements. Afaik, the game has some censorship. Something about the bloodier scenes got cut out. And if you want another rabbit hole, check out the Localisation story. It sounds like the game was dubbed into English, then machine-transcribed into English subtitles, leading to some very amusing gibberish. That gibberish was then taken to translated into other languages. I think the actual game is now pretty much fixed, apart from some very obscrure side quests.
Kind of wish I could do a middle score of "Meh". The story was good but not the best. Beginning hooked me but it slowly lost me as it went. The characters are all great and have good growth as the story progresses. I ended up not finishing it. What made me quit before I reached the end was the actual gameplay. The dungeons are all the exact same thing, except the layout is different and it looks different. You are doing the exact same things in every single one of them, though. Puzzles are few and far between and even then they are just "activate X in Y location to open Z door", so super simple. Once you have played through to where you leave the prison, you have played through every dungeon in the game because they all were the same. No variety. The combat also got super boring super fast. The dungeons are all flooded with enemies. The combat system itself wasn't bad (even if it was very convoluted with 5-billion walls of text to explain it), but it gets old fast as you are in combat every 2 steps. You can have your character auto-fight battles, but the AI is incredibly dumb and will just stand there for no reason 80% of the time. It is much much (much much) faster to just do the combat yourself. It's a shame as the story is good (especially coming from Zestiria), but the game just could not hold my attention enough for me to finish it. I came to realize I was just trying to power through it and lost motivation to continue. The story was good but not good enough to make up for everything else being bleh. (For reference, I got to where they took the prison as their base and went fishing.)
