About
Section 13 is a roguelite twin-stick shooter that can be played solo or in a group of up to 3 players (crossplay not supported). As an Agent of the S2P Corporation, it’s up to you to investigate a crisis at the most top-secret facility of a company whose whole thing is keeping secrets.

Step into the shoes of Agents Red, Boy Scout, Beaker, and Scalpel, as they fight to unearth the buried secrets of Section 13… and solve a few personal mysteries of their own. Collect data on paranormal entities running amok and find out what it all has to do with you.
When an Omega-level containment breach puts an off-the-books company black-site on lockdown, it’s up to a small team of expendable peons to get to the bottom of it. Literally.
Tackle the mission solo or with up to two squad-mates. And with optional friendly fire, it’s up to you whether you’d like a more forgiving experience, or chaotic fun with mad-science weapons.
As a Tier-1 paranormal containment facility, Section 13 is full of unique hazards, and it's up to you to overcome them with quick wits and reflexes.
Time your dodge-rolls and reloads to stay one step ahead of a horde of hungry monsters. Back against the wall? Pop off with a special ability… or grab a melee weapon and smash your way out.
But keep an eye on your Fear level, or risk a debilitating mid-mission panic attack!
Add some spice to every run with unlockable (and customizable) weapons, gameplay-altering Synaptic Enhancements, and of course, recreational genetic modification. (Some side effects may apply).
Utilize special abilities and unique tactical items to outsmart pissed-off cryptids, navigate a series of shifting levels, and push deeper into the base with every attempt.
Between deaths, you’ll also unlock persistent upgrades that change how you play and radically alter your chances of success.

9/10 Top notch 3 player co-op twin stick roguelike. Online or local play! Full of style, and the gameplay is tight. A near-perfect game, my only criticism is that when 3 of us play together, it doesn't progress our us properly like it would if playing solo (seems to be you need to play solo to properly unlock characters, or to get certain dialogue and tips). This is offset by the fact that you gain temporary access to all characters if joining someone in multiplayer, but it would have been much better to just keep it the same as single player in terms of progression. Temp unlocked characters do not gain USBs beware, If you don't mind doing a couple of solo runs to unlock the characters then this is OK. Well worth the buy, and I would love to see DLC dungeons added.
feel like it might deserved the mixed reviews, because for everything it did that I thought was neat, it also did something I didn't like all that much. was worth the $5 on sale, not worth the normal price, even if they did a lot of work on the voice acting and stuff. Better with friends, but why are their four characters and only three players max?
have fun with friends

I've been trying to find games like Alienation on the ps4 and nothing that I've played on PC hit those marks. Section 13 is the closest game I have played so far to that, all in all great top down/twin stick shooter. An aspect that I think that would make this game better are horde modes and weapon upgrade selection. The game focuses on mainly objective type of waves rather than just a random wave/horde spawn intervals. If that was to be added into the current game I think it would take things to the next level. Switching gears over to how weapon systems work in the game, there really isn't a direct upgrade path with a weapon itself. Weapon upgrades are in the form of how random perks work in the game when you select them off of the random black cubes you earn after objectives. IMO, the random perks should be upgrades you can apply to your weapons before you start the match/game (since everything is ran in one playthrough, its like permadeath with upgradeables overtime in the lobby). Yes that may defeat the whole "rogue like" playstyle of game its something that I'd rather prefer. (rogue like twin stick shooters seem to be more and more popular these days and I'd rather have the option to upgrades my weapons). Overall 8.3, top down like game 10/10 what I was looking for, horde spawn type gameplay 4/10 almost too predictable.
