About

A combination RTS and base builder with a brand new kind of enemy, the Calyx are a group of powerful plant-aliens that, left unchecked, quickly spread to control swathes of the map.

As the only remaining occupant of an Avaris Corporation deep-space mining vessel, you’ve arrived in orbit around a barren-looking planet. While you’re trying to get over being frozen for more than a century, you’re dropped to the surface as the ship’s AI outlines your Ore mining targets.
Build a power network, set up Harvesters and refine Ore before sending it to orbit for Credits. Build walls and turrets to protect your base. Deploy tanks and artillery to push the Calyx back before it gets too strong.
Balance your base’s energy requirements carefully to avoid vital defences being down on power.
Secure rare deposits to improve your mining and military capacity. Connect to booster buildings for additional power, mining and healing buffs.

Will you establish a strong defence, or attack the Calyx before it spreads too far? Dig in and build a massive force, or adopt a mobile and nimble strategy? There are many ways to defeat the different varieties of Calyx. Start your base wherever you like, experiment and develop your styles of play, and learn to cope with different scenarios.

Protect Data Archives to gain Research Points, and use the tech tree to unlock and upgrade more advanced units and buildings. Unlock the Inferno flamethrower and watch the Calyx burn! Build the Unit Workshop and manufacture the Goliath, a massive, multi turret tank, and boost its speed with hover technology. Unlock Orbital technologies and fire a devastating laser beam from orbit.

Protect and power communication arrays to access the corporation’s deep space network. Scan the Calyx roots to learn more about how these hostile lifeforms function. Discover new and dangerous Calyx variants as you battle to gain control of the planet and try to find a way home!

Firstly - this game may be expensive for the content included to date. With that being said, what is here is absolutely fantastic. Had a great time strategising and pushing back the calyx. I think if they keep adding more content it will be amazing
It feels like it downgrades each time I come back to play... Upgrade system is now a tedium and quite poor, yet plays a large part in the game (or it should but not upgrading and just rushing more of everything seems to work better now). Any semblance of upgrades for range in units or defences seemed to have disappeared whilst my enemy continued to have what seemed like 'true' upgraded turrets, making for a very one sided game of attrition with their limitless spam. Artillery are still pathetic, even more with the upgrades as they are now. I don't understand the direction intended.
I Absolutely Love this game! If you're a Fan of oldskl C&C or Creeper World... You'll Love this game!!!! I've just purchased the game and played the first 5-6 levels, but to be crystal-clear, I was previously providing feedback within the "Play-tests" that I signed upto, pre-Early Access launch! This is why i've waited a while to see what the launch intaled and now i've dived in. So my feedback here, maybe a tad-squewed, as I was already familiar with most of the game mechanics etc due to being a "Play-Tester"... That being said... This game Continues to be Amazing! I waited awhile after the launch before buying & playing it... It seems the EA release has had an update or two... So I bit the bullet and made my purchase and at the time of this review: I've played through the first 5-6 levels! This game Sooo Reminds me of the old-skl C&C:Tiberiun Sun days... PVE-RTS @ It's finest if you ask me! This game is like a mating of(cross between) My two Ultimate RTS favourites: 'Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun' & 'Creeper World' I for one Love it! -=-=-=-=-=-=- To the Devs: I Thank you for not using any A.I to voice the campaign storyline! Personally I prefer reading text, than having an A.I voice over... So Thank you for NOT jumping on the disliked/hated A.I bandwagon! That being said, I think you'll get much more engagement if you can afford to hire a couple of real Voice actors to provide you with Voice-Over for the Campaign storyline. If you're waiting until the game is at v1.0, before doing so... that is also understandable, as highering real VO ppl is expensive. Ultimately I give this game a 9/10 in It's current state... Adding real (human Voiced) VO for the Campaign messages, would push it upto a 10/10! Imo! Fore anyone who enjoys PVE-RTS... You'll Love this game!
Love the game concept and the aesthetics but one glaring issue exists. The balance is whack when it comes to the Artillery Calyx. On mission 5 you already get 2 of them on the map and they just destroy any tanks in like 2~3 shots on normal difficulty. Even the bulky tank. At this point you basically have no effective way of repairing and the only repair option essentially repairs so slow you'd be better off replacing the entire unit. They evolve too fast and deal too much damage and outrange any turret (makes sense, if not for how strong they are vs all your tanks and how fast they shoot). By 10 minutes in they are already max level with dozens of almost unapproachable artillery growths which is intensified in difficulty due to the growth speed of the creep of of a level 3 Calyx. Will ammend my review when this gets addressed.
I'm quite enjoying the additional goals that unlock the upgrades - replaying the levels when you are further up the tech tree makes them a different game, going for speed rather than just survival etc. These challenges are well-designed and quite rewarding!
This is a great game. Can be very challenging at higher levels and is really a load of fun. Can't wait for the rest of the campaign.
Really fun RTS base builder. Can easily lose myself in the levels for hours. The new naval content in the playtest has been great to play around with.
Its a fun little game. Building up your forces to slowly push back against the Calyx is quite fun. The missions do get repetitive but you can get about 20 hours out of it easily. Or a lot more if you like to replay missions on harder difficulties. And there are more missions to come as well becuase the campaign is not finished yet. It has tower defence elements in the early game and then you slowly build up and tech up and go on the offensive. What I really loved is the unit formations. In other RTS, units just blob up randomly. Here, you automatically get short range units in the front, followed by artillery and then repair units in nice little formations. More RTSs should implement this. I played just after the Leviathan update when the game was quite hard. But some people were whining about not being able to build on beaches etc. so they just released a patch which made the game easier. I dont think it was needed as I managed to finish every mission except one in my first attempt. I can see myself going back to it to finish the campaign when they add those last missions.
