An absolute masterpiece. While the RE4: Remake does improve on certain parts of the game, it does so at the cost of other elements being removed/not present. I'm not going to compare the games because they are both great works on their own. However, the somewhat popular rhetoric that the remake "replaces" the original Resident Evil 4 is ignorant and may put off people who would have otherwise enjoyed the experience. Therefore, playing through Resident Evil 4 (2005) is essential for any fans of the RE4: Remake. The game's pacing, fast-paced combat, atmosphere, characters, and horror elements are timeless, and the games impact on both the industry and third-person gameplay cannot be understated. It differs from the Remake in its tone, which may come a bit jarring to new players, but if they are able to immerse themselves they will surely be able to adapt and appreciate its unique differences. For a modern overhaul of the game, I HIGHLY recommend using the RE4 HD PROJECT. Over the course of 8 years, two individuals (Albert Marin and Cris Morales) remastered the visuals across the entire game. This gives it a fresh coat of paint and is an absolute must for all who plan to play this game. Truly gives it a proper remaster. It also installs something known as "RE4 tweaks", which allows you to change FOV (among other things). Also, I recommend playing through the game on Professional whenever you get the chance. It is a proper challenge, worthy of completion. The game has a low price ($19.99 USD), and is frequently on sale (currently $4.99 USD). There is a reason why this game was for years on almost every "Top 10 games of all time" list around the internet. I suggest you play through and discover why.

It's RESIDENT EVIL 4! You just gotta play this one. absolute classic, wouldn't be surprised if someone called it the best videogame of all time or even mankind's greatest achievement. 100/10 would recommend. Don't miss out on this one.
