About

Cultist Simulator is a game of apocalypse and yearning from Alexis Kennedy, creator of Fallen London and Sunless Sea. Play as a seeker after unholy mysteries, in a 1920s-themed setting of hidden gods and secret histories. Perhaps you're looking for knowledge, or power, or beauty, or revenge. Perhaps you just want the colours beneath the skin of the world.
In this roguelike narrative card game, what you find may transform you forever. Every choice you make, from moment to moment, doesn't just advance the narrative - it also shapes it.
Become a scholar of the unseen arts. Search your dreams for sanity-twisting rituals. Craft tools and summon spirits. Indoctrinate innocents. Seize your place as the herald of a new age.

In this 20-40 hour game, you'll:
Combine cards to tell your own story in a rich, Lovecraftian world of ambition, appetite and abomination. Corrupt your friends. Consume your enemies. There is never only one history.
Found a cult, dedicated to the Red Grail, or the Witch-and-Sister, or the Forge of Days. Recruit Believers and promote them to Disciples to serve as burglars, researchers, cat's-paws. Use your disciples to keep you fed - or feed on your disciples.
Unravel arcane, unacknowledged mysteries. Translate grimoires and glean their lore. Locate and pillage the Star Shattered Fane. Penetrate the realm of the Hours, and win a place in their service. Perhaps - if you are very cunning - you may even glimpse the Mansus.
Outwit rivals, investigators and the increasingly suspicious Authorities. Your own altered Appetites may force you to act abominably, but your Cause must not be stopped.
Transcend death with a story-driven legacy system. Perhaps your inheritors will complete the Rite of the Crucible Soul. Perhaps they'll find peace in a pleasing career. Perhaps they'll bring the Dawn.

I'm all for a game trying to let you discover mechanics, but they won't even tell you what you are trying to do, what your goal/s are, what ANYTHING IS. Just... such a horrifically bad time. As you can see, I've given it a good 4 hours, and I just don't understand why "Confusion: The Game (tm)" is a good time for anyone. That's not to mention the way the cards will just keep popping on-top of each other, or run off the side of the board, or anything. God forbid you don't have an ultrawide and are not playing in full screen, I guess. It's sad because I am sure this does click with many people. Don't get this if you like to know either A) how to play the game, or B) know how to win the game.
the first frustration point i had with this game was desperately trying to figure out what was going on and how to progress literally anything, little did I know was that this kind of exploration was the only fun i was going to have with it. once you actually figure out how to win and progress after a few runs, it's kind of remarkable how tedious it gets. it's not all bad and there's some interesting moments, but it will take you literal hours of nothing to get these nuggets of intrigue. by design, cultist sim just does not respect your time, and its really unfortunate since the writing and art is pretty cool, maybe I'll give their other games a shot sometime
I really enjoy the vibe and storytelling. I don't much love the gameplay. Which as many have said, can be quite repetitive and punishing. Having the support at the app store tell people to use a fandom wiki is more sinful than anything you can do in this game.
I have NO REMOTE idea of what the hell I'm doing for the first 8 hours of this game and I'm loving it. 10/10
overcomplicated but lacking depth
The game is an opium buying simulator, 50% of the time I was actually trying to be a cultist and the other 50% was just buying opium so my guy wouldnt kill himself. Its a constant struggle against not losing everything via dread.
I wish that this was just a book instead. Like... I enjoyed it, but this feels like it's actually less interesting and enjoyable than it would have been to just read all of the flavor text on all of the cards in sequence.
过于繁琐了,如果一个休闲游戏要看一堆攻略的话我很难玩的下去
if not for the fact that ultimately, no matter how well you understand the game or even how "skilled" you are at it, it is PURELY RNG at its core, I would recommend this game. The amount of times i've sent the perfect summon or minion to destroy evidence, with the best stats for such, and STILL having them fail over and over because of, you guessed it, RNG. HOURS OF GAMEPLAY wasted, all lost in an instant because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG. It's beyond infuriating.
