Juegazo.
This game is easily superior to the remake. Comparing the RE4 remake to this game is just as bad and pointless as comparing the RE3 remake to the original RE3. Both remakes changed things that simply didn’t need changing, and in both cases the originals come out clearly superior. The RE4 remake isn’t bad at all. It’s a great game but the original is on another level. What really stood out is the difference in Leon’s character. I genuinely enjoyed his character here in a way I never did in the remake. In this game he feels natural, cool without trying too hard, and actually likable. In the remake he’s being forcefully “charismatic” and doing way too much the entire time. I never understood the massive hype around that version of him. For me, Leon was incredible here in the original, in RE2 and of course RE9. The remake version just ruined his character by making him do too much. The villains are also much stronger in the original. While the remake’s villains are good, they focused a lot on just action. In the original, you get the combination of horror and tension alongside the action. This game is perfect. If you’ve only played the remake, you’re definitely missing out.
O verdadeiro Resident Evil.
