never wrote a review for a game but this is not good at all

I would say this isn't the perfect VR port of the pancake version, but it's a pretty good port for the price. I was surprised by the the depth behind the game. First of all, game looks good. It's not the best looking PCVR game, but it looks better than the the vast majority of Steam VR releases that look like Quest 2/3 ports. While I wouldn't say the game is smooth & polished, it's also not a jank fest like most PCVR releases these days. It was totally functional game. There's stuff that can be improved, such as the interactions / dialogues with the prisoners. Also, putting back the searched boxes was a bit more finnicky than I expected. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 5090, I was getting a smooth 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You do have full locomotion & smooth turning available. You can play comfortably seated (you have button crouch & height adjustment). There's limited graphical settings, but at least they are there. Bad game. Super confusing can't find my way around the game and when I do get to where it tells me to go nothing happens. Also super annoying that the voice acting isn't english idk what language it is but it's annoying listening to it. over all 1/10

I've played the game for about 1.5 hours and it's good and if you likes the flatscreen version of the game I think the $10 is worth it. It does have a little bit of a learning curve to it. But I would recommend it.

If you enjoy novelty VR Sims this should satisfy most of your desires. This is fun and im surprised how deep the gameplay and RPG mechanics are. Im late to the party and realized this is a VR adaption of the original game but im so thankful to have not only discovered this but that the devs decided to make it into a VR experience. 10/10 for me.

Ich habe meinen Key vor 3 Jahren vom ersten Entwickler bekommen und konnte über die Zeit immer mal wieder reinschauen. Das Projekt wurde inzwischen von mehreren Teams übernommen – leider merkt man das auch. Jetzt, nach dem offiziellen Release am 18.03.26, durfte ich es endlich zeigen. Ich bin ehrlich: In den 3 Jahren hat sich nicht wirklich viel getan. Das Spiel fühlt sich für mich eher nach „okay“ als nach „fertig“ an. 🔧 Was noch nicht gut läuft • Der Rucksack funktioniert nicht sauber. Dinge verschwinden oder fühlen sich „durchgeglitcht“ an. • Wenn etwas runterfällt, muss man die Ducktaste drücken – die Animation wirkt, als würde man halb auf dem Boden liegen. • Die Sprachausgabe klingt für mich nach Spanisch oder etwas Ähnlichem – passt nicht wirklich zur Atmosphäre. • Einige Türen sind gesperrt, was das Gefühl verstärkt, dass das Spiel noch nicht komplett ist. • Insgesamt wirkt es an vielen Stellen einfach unfertig und braucht dringend Patches. 👍 Was mir gefallen hat • Die Realismus‑Momente sind richtig gut gelungen. Beispiel: Dosen untersuchen, Schmuggel finden – ich hab sogar ein Feuerzeug entdeckt. • Ein Häftling hat mich schief angeschaut und erstmal neben das Klo gepullert – herrlich absurd und irgendwie authentisch. • Die Map ist riesig, das Setting wirkt groß und glaubwürdig. • Das Brust‑Menü für Karte und Aufgaben funktioniert super. • Essen, Trinken, Interaktionen – alles läuft stabil. 🎯 Fazit Für mich ist es aktuell ein solides, aber unfertiges VR‑Spiel, das noch einige Updates braucht. Es hat definitiv Potenzial und auch coole Momente, aber nach 3 Jahren Entwicklung und mehreren Teams hätte ich mir mehr Fortschritt gewünscht. Kein Totalausfall – aber auch kein Highlight. I have had a good time with this for many hours on standalone Quest and PC VR. PC VR runs smoother all round and has slightly better textures, LOD and Draw distance. I have found the game to be very well optimised so you can put the supersampling through the roof depending on what headset and graphics card you are using. If you find the fastest smooth turn slightly too slow for your liking you can edit the option file in the AppData LocalLow PlayWay folder. I knocked mine up to 220 which is nice and fast like what I have it set in other Unity Engine VR games. Perhaps the developer will add some more options in the settings menu. This lengthy game surprised me with the amount of depth it has. The prison is a full size prison including outside yard, exercise apparatus such as dumbbells, pullup bar, basketball court, guard towers, showers (don't drop the soap), canteen (including kitchens) workshop, Solitary Confinement and Death Row with electric chair. You unlock more areas and jobs as you progress. Lots of NPC's walking about, many different looking characters, they must use some type of randomized character system as I have not seen any exact doppelgangers and when I restarted the prisoners in my charge were all different, they look good, some with tattoos all over their face and what not. There are mini games to do in your free time, darts in the guards room which has many different rule variations, you can have a little bet with fellow guards, a shooting range with three different modes, gym and basketball with bets with prisoners. Lots of different types of jobs you have to do as a Prison guard other than guarding such as taking the prisoners to work, searching parcels, document validating, searching cells, cleaning with pressure cleaner, towel allocation, each area has different jobs. Things can go wrong in all sorts of ways and the events are never the same, things like fights or fires break out which you have to deal with, sometimes at the same time, prisoners can get injured so you will have to send them to the infirmary or morgue in more serious cases. You can be a good guard or bad guard with reputation system, level up and there is a skill tree to unlock skills to help you in your career, you also get to improve the prison by ordering equipment as the Prison Warden gives you the keys to the castle, you can buy all sorts of stuff for the prison and yourself including Dark Side or Light Side baton. There is a separate Free mode and within the Campaign mode selection there are other modes which I have not tried. The game is a little bit clunky in places but nothing you will not get use to and for the money the game is an absolute bargain if you fancy being a Prison Guard. A nice surprise which kind of made me think how a Bully VR game would be. I would welcome a PSVR2 version with all the headset and Sense Controller features utilised. A few quick tips. When holding the backpack for your equipment press trigger to turn it around and reveal your inventory slots (there are filters for different types of Item slots Illegal/Legal/Quest. If the excellent in game map does not help you nor all the signs around the prison you can tap the bottom icon on your watch and it will point you in the right direction. When in the search room putting boxes on the shelves, shove the boxes onto the shelf rather than placing them, then they will shift into the correct position. You will know they are in the correct position as you will not be able to move them anymore. When you hear a scribble noise take a look at your Notebook as it will have in depth Help section about the job or activity you are about do. You can position your backpack floating fixed in air wherever you want when performing the various jobs so you do not have to keep getting it out and putting it away over your shoulder. It will also automatically appear on your back if you walk far away from it, you will know when it does because you will hear the sound of the backpack.

This was absolutely horrible

Очень давно жду именно эту игру, и она наконец-то вышла! Первые впечатления очень крутые, это не ужасная сырая игра, играть уже можно и вполне комфортно, но все же есть баги. Баги: Руки иногда застревают в больших предметах (коробки на досмотре) Рюкзак очень неудобно использовать Ну и по сути все, игру уже можно назвать очень стабильной как для первого билда. Очень приятно реализовано взаимодействие с объектами, двери открываются сами (очень круто, просто не представляю каким было бы забаганным открывание решеток). Пока что не успел пострелять, но очень хочу попробовать, интересно какая тут физика стрельбы. Мой отзыв - первое впечатление, пройти игру полностью и выдать полное объективное мнение еще не успел)
