I have not completed the DLC yet but I have completed the main story of the game. So my review will be based on the main game, but I feel that should suffice. As a big Ninja Gaiden fan since Ninja Gaiden Black, I have thoroughly enjoyed the game. Performance wise, this game runs fantastic on PC. If you love Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and especially Metal Gear Rising: Reveangence (cause PlatinumGames are involved in this game), you will feel right at home. It feels like those 3 games mentioned smooshed together and that's what this game is. While the game is not perfect, I absolutely adored playing a fantastic hack 'n' slack that is NInja Gaiden 4. Pros + Combat in this game has a lot of depth and complexity. + Game rewards defensive mechanics such as perfect blocking and parries. It incentivises the player to master these mechanics and is very rewarding. + Side missions are a nice touch to the game. + Yakumo is cool (I didn't think so at first but he grew on me). Bloodbind combat is cool and adds more nuance to Yakumo's combat. + Ryu Hayabusa power scaling is crazy, despite his lack of weapons to previous games. Despite that he was also super fun to play. + Soundtrack is good but not amazing. + Enemies actually block in this game. Cons (most are nitpicking) - Game has no form of manual save. - Lock on system is wonky - Story is ok. - Autosave checkpoints are wonky. Like it's a complete guess where you'd respawn or load in on your next play session. - Some levels are repetitive, in particular with Ryu Hayabusa missions. It just reminds me too much of Devil May Cry 4's Dante repeat missions of Nero. - Level design seems to always be in dark areas for the most part. - No cutscenes inbetween the end of previous chapter and start of new chapter. I found this to be a bit weird, as there's no context to the story at times prior to starting a new chapter. However, it does speed up getting right into the action. I recommend that people play this game primarily because of the combat and character design. Story to me is the lowest priority in this series, as I have low expectations for the story. Plus I feel that you can enjoy this game without paying much attention to the story. I'm not saying ignore it, but don't make the story the main reason to buy the game is what I'm saying. The story is just serviceable. I bought this game on sale and I would recommend others to do the same, even though I would happily pay full price for this game. Overall, I would give it 9/10.
战斗,爽! 普通难度通关留。
