Devil May Cry HD Collection

I haven't played these games in a while, but I forgot to give a review so I'm gonna give a short one now. I'm not a fan of fighting or "combo-mashing" games most of the time, but, like the Yakuza series, DMC makes it very easy for a casual like me to get into it! DMC1: Aged pretty well! At first I thought the PS1 fixed camera angles were gonna be a problem, but they weren't in the slightest. The first boss (Phantom) is an absolute PAIN tho. All the other bosses I had a smooth time with, but he was a pita. DMC2: Ever since playing this trilogy, DMC2 has been at the top of my list for "worst game of all time". Seriously. I'd rather play Big Rigs. Or E.T. Or Superman 64. Genuinely absolute dog water of a video game. To anyone who's never played these games before and is giving them a shot: do yourself a HUGE favor and skip 2. Do not do what I did and be like "Oh, it can't be THAT bad, right?" and then I proceeded to waste hours of my life on that ♥♥♥♥. HORRIBLE, awful and terrible game. DMC3: Thankfully, despite how god awful 2 was, 3 came out and saved the franchise! It takes what made DMC1 great, modernized it, and then turned the cool/edgy factor up to 11! It never feels dull or repetitive at all ( also I had a crush on Dante because of the box art for this game). All-in-all, great games! Stay away from 2.

DMC 2 is awful, skip it. The others are timeless. I didn't play them back in the day and still very much enjoy them

Where to even start this was some journey but il go by game by game DMC1: this was the perfect start to the whole series and yes its dated and works and plays like a game for its time but i really did enjoy the story along with the combat and thank fully the map was really handy to help me figure out where to go but ofc the camera is really annoying (go figure who even likes fixed camera angles) but after the first hour or two u will get used to it and go on your way DMC2: wow this is bad like soooo bad not only is the story boring and makes no sence but the combat is so bad lets start with the map u have one but its just so ♥♥♥♥ u might as well not have one like it doesnt even show you where dante is like whats the point but the combat is just sad and bad. they have a lock on system in 2 and oh boy how bad it is god forbid you want to hit someone nope just locks onto someone else (thankfully its way better in 3) and the story brings nothing to the whole series if i were u i would skip it since its a waste of time DMC3: well being a prequal is nice but holy ♥♥♥♥ is there so many puzzles along with very questionable bosses to me it felt like i was playing a dark souls game half the time but unlike 2, 3 has a great story and tells and shows us how and why dante became a demon hunter Overall: they are great game but i suggest u only get these games on sale and have some kind of controller bc the game just works better that way ik the controls were bad in 1 idk about 2 and 3 but overall for the games i would give them a 7/10

I missed out on playing these way back in the day. I never had any interest until recently. This collection is barebones and very, very buggy, so my experience was harmed a bit by it. I also played with keyboard because I am nothing if not a glutton for misery. DMC 1: Pleasantly surprised by how well the game holds up. First game in a long while to kick my ass. Fantastic enemy lineup and some decent bosses (barring the final one). Mallet Island is a great location; you can definitely feel the Resident Evil bones in every room and camera angle. Kick 13 is the best move I've ever used in a videogame. I love some corny dialogue and the plane scene is everything I could ever ask for. The lack of a level-select makes replaying it a bit obtuse, but it's easily forgiven. The final few levels are a little weak, a trend that the series fails to shake off throughout its entire existance. Best Enemy: Shadow Best Boss: Griffon 3 Worst Enemy: Beezlebub Worst Boss: Mundus DMC 2: As weak of an entry as the internet said it would be. The common sentiment is that the firearms are too strong, and while partially true, that's not necessarily the root of the problem. In actuality, the game suffers from a very flimsy combat system and enemy roster that seeks to punish the player for engaging in melee 90% of the time. Gameplay aside, the locations you visit are far less interesting, and the story/dialogue in general is pretty much nonexistent. There's really nothing to latch onto other than what could have been. It introduced level-select and bloody palace, good additions, but not in a game that doesn't deserve a replay to begin with. Best Enemy: N/A Best Boss: Possessed Arius Worst Enemy: All of them Worst Boss: Tateobesu DMC 3: The big one. The one everyone always hypes up as the greatest creation humanity has ever achieved. It's pretty damn good, a return to form in a lot of ways, but not without some faults along the way. Extremely satisfying combat, a killer soundtrack, a unique setting, and a pretty fun story. It's a good deal until you get to the second half of the game, and the flaws make themselves very known: the enemies. The game has a very weak enemy roster, harboring some of the worst ideas the series has ever had, in fact. If I could sacrifice a kidney to remove soul eaters, enigmas, and the fallen from the game, I'd take the surgery in a heartbeat. Again, great game, but not as perfect as I'd been led to believe. This was also the buggiest game out of the three in the collection. Go figure. Best Enemy: Abyss Best Boss: Nevan Worst Enemy: Enigma Worst Boss: Arkham Excluding the second game, choosing my favorite title in this collection (and the series in general) is a hard call to make, so I'll play it safe and say they all have their strengths. Couldn't recommend enough.

A great way to play the original three games from the PS2, However we don't talk about the second game....

Devil May Cry 3 The absolute best game in this collection!!! I love the combat since you can now switch weapons on the fly and no longer need to go to the menu screen. I love dante's character, hes so corny, goofy and cringe but in a good way (i think Leon from re4 2005 is gonna best friends with him) and that I think this is the game where CapCom knew who Dante should be as a character and that theyve finally figured him out. I love Vergil's boss fights, said boss fights are some of the best ive ever played in my entire gaming career because its just so fun, Vergil is also cool as a character and the voice actor who portrayed him is very well done (nice voice btw bro). I love the plot (even tho it was a bit simple) because it kept me engaged and entertained despite being dumb and that it actually made me care for all the characters in the game. A really hard game tho Devil May Cry I love the game's combat and fixed camera angles however, dmc3 had better fixed camera angles so this feature may dissuade newgens from trying this game out :( I also love Nelo Angelo's boss fights since its like fighting Dante, the character you play in this game or even Vergil (iykyk). However the plot was terribly simple and it just felt like you were just going from place to place with no valid reason to do so. I love CapCom's architectural design of the castles and its sometimes a bit creepy and reminds me of resident evil 4 2005 Devil May Cry 2 Dont even try this yall

I have loved this entire series since I was a kid, played them as they came out even. Navigating menus and getting out of the selected game CAN also be a bit of a hassle in this and figuring it out can take some time but once you get it and keep doing it it becomes second nature! I also HIGHLY recommend using a controller since the pc control layout had me wondering if they'd even looked at a keyboard before lol. And like I said I adore DMC as a series, but boy does DMC 1's camera and control set up make me wanna throw my controller and skip right to playing 4 BUT!!!!!! You absolutely should power through it for the story. It's fun and campy, introduces you to the ground work for the story you NEED to play the other games!!! As much as people hate on 2, I've never really had any qualms with it personally btu it doesn't stick out. But again play it for the overall story line!!!! I've yet to see what nightmare controls it has since I'm playing them all through again! Now for 3, usually if you ask someone's fav they'll give you this one because the controls and everything is just a nice and much needed step up! I'm excited to keep walking the nostalgia path and get here! Defiantly worth the buy, you won't regret getting into DMC!!!

I bought the game recently and for some reason it wont launch I tried everything I could can anyone help me out? Ive accumulated 7 minutes of me trying to launch the game and it crashing immediately anybody please help
