GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
EN: NINJA GAIDEN 4 — Full Achievement Clear Review Including DLC As the long-awaited fourth entry in the classic NINJA GAIDEN series, NINJA GAIDEN 4 arrives after the HD remastered versions and NINJA GAIDEN 2 Black, finally returning with a presentation more in line with current-generation standards. In terms of controls, NINJA GAIDEN 4 certainly feels more suited to modern players. The action system is smoother, more fluid, and more responsive. As a high-speed action game, its fundamental combat feel remains strong, with solid pacing, satisfying attack feedback, and well-connected combo flow. This entry also introduces a new ninja protagonist, Yakumo, along with a combat system designed around him. Of course, the legendary Ryu Hayabusa, the iconic super ninja of the series, is still present and later becomes one of the main playable characters. On paper, this setup looks fairly impressive. Unfortunately, once you actually play through the game, that seemingly luxurious setup ends up feeling rather hollow. First, the story is not particularly complete. In order to introduce Yakumo, the overall flow of the game carries a noticeable sense of fragmentation. To be fair, this issue is not overwhelmingly severe in the base game. Since the main narrative is written around resolving the lingering legacy of the Black Dragon, it still more or less holds together. However, once the DLC content centered around the two super ninjas comes into play, this sense of fragmentation becomes much more obvious. The first issue is that Ryu Hayabusa’s new weapon does not come with new corresponding execution animations. The second issue is that the DLC story content is extremely short. The third issue is that Yakumo’s new weapon design could essentially have been folded into Ryu’s arsenal instead. There was no real need to split the content apart just to push Yakumo further into the spotlight. As a result, the paid DLC, which already felt thin, becomes even more underwhelming. What makes it even more absurd is that some of Ryu Hayabusa’s abilities have to be unlocked through treasure chests. That design choice is honestly difficult to take seriously. It makes the game’s otherwise excellent combat feel powerless in the face of larger structural problems, and it prevents the strong action system from meaningfully elevating the overall experience. Overall, NINJA GAIDEN 4 is not without merit. The combat still feels excellent, and the visuals are fairly solid. If you simply want to experience ultra-fast combat and enjoy the thrill of a ninja action game, there is still value here. However, when judged as a complete package, the game has clear issues with its story structure, content density, and DLC planning. For interested players, I would recommend waiting for a deeper discount before picking it up. On a ten-point scale, I would give NINJA GAIDEN 4 a 5.9 out of 10.
You can play MASTER NINJA if you really hate yourself... Edit: oh and Good Luck with Abyssal Road Floor 90-100...
