A refreshing and original take on 4X. Better than Civ that stalled since Civ 4. Millennia would still gain to have simpler, more streamlined and interconnected systems; let's hope for several years of DLC that won't try to pass "complicated" for "complex".

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Abandoned the game in a fundamentally broken state. Should have known better than to trust the DLC abusing, whale farming, final bosses of releasing unfinished games, but I really believed this game will be different. Will never spend a penny on a Paradox product again.
Not very good as is and abandoned
not worth its price in my opinion its just dreadfull to finish a full game and the AI is seriously underdeveloped and plain frustrating to deal with, the graphics leave much to be desired personaly i prefer civ 5 (a game with more than 10 years to this title)
How about you make a full game and address player feedback before releasing DLC. This is why I left the civ franchise after playing for a lifetime. You're never going to achieve the notoriety of Civ with this garbage. I bought your half arsed game but I will not be purchasing your DLC.
I can't in good conscience recommend this game. Let's talk about the good stuff first though. The artwork for the game is really good, there's not enough of it, but what's there is awesome. It'd be nice if the innovations had their own artwork instead of the same generic one, but that's the least of the games problems. It plays decently, your standard 4x and the improvement point system I think is a good one. I think it's actually a lot better than Civ's continuous struggle with workers. The idea of the game is cool, alternate history and what not and they do a lot of fun stuff with the alternate ages to make this game fun. Now, let's do the bad. First of all, if you haven't seen the screenshots this game looks terrible. It looks worse than Civ V! Which came out 14 years ago. I've seen mobile games that look better than this. And for some reason instead of working on polishing assets or adding more artwork or designing more alternate ages which is this games main draw (the only reason to play it in my opinion) they programmed these horrid, boring, battle scenes. They are a chore to watch and they look like trash. A fight on a hill is still flat for these scenes. WHY MAKE THESE NO ONE WAS ASKING FOR THIS?!? IT WAS A HUGE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY THAT COULD'VE BEEN SPENT ELSEWHERE. Something I hate on a personal level is that you can't go from alternate age to alternate age. I don't want to hear some lie that the mechanics didn't support that either, there's a mod in the workshop that enables that outright. The truth is they didn't want you to go from one alternate age to the next because it would lower your chance of replaying the game, which is greedy. So did they add more alternate and crisis ages to ensure you wouldn't be able to play all of them in a single go? No. They made you go back to the boring standard ages that other 4x games have done better. The production chain system is mostly fine until you unlock religion and education. You will have a third of every one of your cities scrambling to keep religion from screwing you let alone making it a viable option. You have to sink so many resources just to keep your head above water with religion and then education comes and punches you in the stomach because it uses the same exact resources. So instead of doing anything fun you're stuck micromanaging your religion. It's a bad broken system. In terms of complexity, it's more complex than Civ VI but less complex than ARA. Millennia is truly great ideas destroyed by bad execution, hopefully they make a Millennia 2 and it fixes all the bad in this one because it would be a great shame to see these ideas die but there's no way this game is salvageable. There's too much wrong. Don't buy this game unless it is heavily discounted.
Not a very well done 4x game. No personalities for AI players. Nothing special about landmarks. Poorly done combat with the excuse of focusing on other aspects of the game, (such as all the different types of combat units that can be unlocked, lol). Games too easy to beat simply by building enough armies and conquering the world.
