Child of Light

Child of Light was one of the first games I bought on Steam, and I was very excited to play it. I had to create an Ubisoft account, which was annoying, but I did it. Played for 46 minutes, then left do do something else. Tried to log back in. Couldn't. Checked my email. Reset my password. Nothing. Emailed tech support. Reset Password. Still didn't work. Tech support told me the only thing they could do was delete my account and send me a key for Child of Light when I opened a new account. It's 2026 and- for the first time since 2014- I was finally able to open Child of Light, but I had to download a new launcher to do so. At this point Ubisoft can suck a fat one. Don't give them any of your money.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! This game is abandoned and broken. I had to use a workaround to even get it to start. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Need to create a separate account using 'ubiconnect' to play this game. It was optional at first. They perform monthly updates to make sure you're not using any workarounds to avoid having to register or log in through ubiconnect, rather than fix their game. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

If you have a newer computer, you will not be able to play this game. I bought Child of Light several years back because I played partway through the game on a friend's console a decade earlier and enjoyed what I played. It's a beautiful game full of charm, but I cannot even get it to launch on on my laptop. The eight minutes of gametime associated with my account were all spent in menu crashes. There are workarounds, but I don't feel like configuring a custom database for this game just to play it. Unfortunately, I'd bought it too long ago to return it (I knew I liked the game, so I wasn't in a rush to play it right away), so now I'm stuck with a game that does not work. Buyer beware.

I can't believe I let this MASTERPIECE sit in my library unplayed for over 10 years. Wonderful on Steam Deck.

Hands down this is easily one of the most beautiful and fun games I have ever played. If you want a game from a time when Ubisoft was good, this is your game.

Depois de 10 anos, finalmente consegui zerar Child of light. Parece um conto de fadas melancólico transcrito em um jogo. Tudo nele transmite uma sensação de delicadeza: os cenários, side quests, criatividade nos design, diálogos em rimas (Ponto característico do jogo), a trilha sonora suave desse jogo, as mecânicas, e até como os personagens amadurecem durante a jornada. O principal mesmo é o sentimento que o jogo deixa. A Ubisoft deixou um legado deslumbrante e poético para todos aqueles que jogarem. Com toda certeza é um dos melhores jogos que já joguei!
