jogo tem otima historia, porem tem alguns bugs

Amazing Story!
Truthfully this is not a definitive edition its the opposite its a deconstruction project, why did 2k release this horrid slop of a game in the state it is in currently. if you played the Mafia 1 remake and are looking at this game do yourself the favor and buy the classic version as this version of the game has a horrid amount of bugs that are visually unappealing and frustrating. i found myself getting lasered through walls by enemies i could not see, missing textures and audio bugs and the worst was when i would fall through the map randomly. i did not have any of these issues on the classic version but i got AIDs playing this joke of a release
Solid Game, Not as Good as the First
Mafia 2: Definitive Edition was a decent sequel to the first Mafia game but it did fall flat in some areas compared to its predecessor. The gunplay is solid again, and the driving is much improved but perhaps the area of the game that stood out the most to me in the first one, the story, is where the game falls a little short. It's not a bad story at all, but it struggles to get going, before ultimately coming to a satisfying conclusion. If you enjoyed the first one, I think you'll enjoy this one as well as it very much follows the same formula, but there were some slightly annoying bugs and hiccups along the way.
Story
Mafia 2 tells the story of Vito Scaletta, a war veteran coming back home determined to make a better life for himself than his father left behind for him and his family. Him and his long time friend Joe start at the bottom, doing small jobs before getting involved with the family, and the higher ups. There are some really good moments, but the story hits a lot of similar beats that the first one did, and it takes a while to really get going. I also didn't find Joe or the other characters as likable as those from the first game. Vito is a good protagonist but everyone else is just fine. I also didn't feel like I was in the mafia as much as the first one, where you truly were a member of the family and felt involved with everyone else, whereas here you feel more like hired muscle which was a little disappointing. Overall, the story is good, but not great.
Gameplay
Mafia 2 follows the formula laid out in the first game, where you complete chapters or missions, in an open world. This means there's a large city you'll be doing missions in, but not in a GTA fashion, where you're placed in a sandbox. The missions are much more structured, with little room for exploring, and there aren't really any side missions to do. It's very linear, and for me that was perfectly fine, and it allows the story to keep moving and keep a good pace. Missions will have you doing a variety of things, but most of them involve a shootout of some kind. The gunplay is decent, with more weapons than the last game but the cover system isn't as refined as Mafia 1 definitive edition, but is more refined than Mafia 1 classic. You'll have to use cover smartly since you die in basically 1-2 shots even on normal difficulty. The melee combat is very mediocre. You'll face enemies 1v1 like you're in a boxing match and have to hold a button to dodge. It took me a while to realize you have to be holding it down before the enemy even winds up, so you're forced to stand there holding the dodge button waiting for the enemy to swing so you can hit them with a counter. It's not really bad, it's just very meh. Gone are the holdable weapons like bats and knives, which was a shame. The biggest improvement comes in the driving. Vehicles control much more smoothly, and weaving in and out of traffic is a blast. There's even some collectibles including Playboy magazines.
Bugs
It's impossible to write a reviews for this game without mentioning the bugs and glitches. I didn't encounter any game breaking ones but they definitely were noticeable. The only one that really affected gameplay was when a mission bugged out on me forcing me to restart the mission. This only happened to me once luckily but others have reported it happening more often. I saw many cars just jump into the air randomly, I had cutscenes where Vito's head was all deformed because the hat he was supposed to be wearing didn't spawn in, I had dialogue repeating itself over and over once, and I had a couple frame drops. There was also the usual open world clipping issues, and slightly wonky hit detection at times. Nothing game breaking, but they were noticeable.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Mafia 2: Definitive edition was a good game, but I don't think it lived up to the first one. The characters and story didn't connect with me the same, and I felt the story beats were a little too similar at times. The gunplay is decent enough and despite the bugs and glitches, I still had a decent time with it and am glad I played through it. I recommend getting it on sale.
