Mafia II: Definitive Edition

Clearly not as good as the first game. it lacks in story progression and the characters are not that memorable save for Joe. Most of the game feels like driving around the city but the locations aren't even used up that well by the game and it rapidly feels empty. The combats are repetitive, either way too easy or you get one shot even in cover. I had a fondness for this gave as I played it as a child but clearly I embellished my memories of it.

A really good game with an engaging story, centered around a Mafia. It expanded on the first game in a lot of ways from a technical standpoint in my opinion, and I recommend it!

This is not a proper remaster like the first one, and so it doesn't look nearly as good. Still, it's a decent game, again not as good as the first. If you've played any action adventure in a city, you know what you're getting.

É uma pena que Mafia II: Definitive Edition não tenha recebido o mesmo nível de dedicação visto em Mafia: Definitive Edition. Em vez de uma reconstrução completa, a nova versão entrega apenas melhorias visuais pontuais, acompanhadas de alguns problemas técnicos e de acabamento. Ainda assim, essas limitações não comprometem aquilo que realmente faz o jogo brilhar: sua qualidade como experiência. Mesmo após tantos anos, Mafia II continua sendo um dos grandes destaques entre os jogos focados em narrativa. Sua história permanece marcante e consegue prender a atenção do jogador do começo ao fim. A campanha é um dos seus maiores pontos fortes. Ao longo da jornada, é fácil criar uma forte conexão com Vito Scaletta e seu inseparável amigo Joe Barbaro. A conexão entre os dois, somada ao carisma do elenco de personagens, torna cada capítulo memorável. Com uma narrativa envolvente, diálogos bem escritos e um excelente desenvolvimento dos acontecimentos, o jogo consegue transportar o jogador para o universo da máfia de forma convincente e cativante.

MY SCORE: 5.8/10 Plain and simple: Didn't like it! I expected it to be the same QUALITY as Mafia: Definitive Edition, the predecessor. WRONG! This one is as "bad" as Google spits out. Meaning it is a REMASTER, not a REMAKE like the first one. Yeah I got that part, also from watching various YT videos. However, once I played it myself and gone through up to Chapter 5 or so, I felt like I couldn't move on. Even with MODS, the game lacked the refinement to meet "modern expectations". Right off the bat: WHY couldn't they remake Mafia 2 as they did with Mafia 1?! I digress. First impressions: - Old engine, graphics are ass. Not a big deal IF the game is fun but... - Zero improvements and refinement in terms of movements - NO improvements in CHECKPOINTS. This is in fact the no1 annoying thing for me. It just annoys the hell out of me. I don't like starting the whole thing where the checkpoint is almost as close as the start of a chapter. - Bugs galore! I thought They REMADE it?!?! No worries, I gave it another shot. I slapped on a few mods with RESHADE and it started to look alright. Everything was alright UNTIL for whatever reason my save got corrupted and can't be loaded while using mods! The mods actually improved a lot of things, especially bugs and improved game logic here and there. Alright, I guess I have to start clean again, as I cannot progress the game with mods no more. I played the game without mods until Chapter 5. That's when I hit the point of no return... I LOVE MAFIA DEFINITIVE EDITION but MAFIA 2 DE is just a SLOP. It felt like nothing much improved. I have to move on..

首先优化暴打隔壁的甩锅三部曲，画面效果还是有明显提升的，出现了原版没有的bug，部分室内场景显卡占用率莫名下跌，物理效果有不同，部分车感觉更难控制，损坏后最明显，字体显示打个补丁就行 原版用汉化显示有问题，现在能看完剧情和简介，亦是记载一狗血道理：男人不坏女人不爱 虽然他中年梦碎，沉迷酗酒高利贷，但他有一颗金子般的心，是一位好丈夫好父亲， 虽然他少年赘婿，沉迷草药银趴，但他有一颗金子般的心，是一位好丈夫未来也是好父亲， 这边建议脱离原生家庭嗷

Probably an unpopular opinion, but it's not as good as the first game or the third, but i still enjoyed it. 5.5/10
