8/10 if the publisher had let them finish the game it would of been a 10/10 and a huge success. I remember playing this for the first time and the graphics was amazing for 2010, the definitive edition graphics up grades I wouldn't really call a remaster. Though some people show that they don't know the difference between a remaster and a remake. Being mad about this game not playing or looking like Mafia Definitive edition is just asinine as that game is a complete ground up remake they haven't done that for this one and unfortunately I don't think 2k has the stomach to handle a real full remake of this one as it would be a large game and to do it right it would be about 50% longer. Seriously go look this game could have been so much better with Daniel Vávra's authenticity and vision for it, but no the publisher had to push them into releasing 40% of the game. Still I recommend picking it up it's an excellent game that could have been even better.

This game is absolute cinema. I first played it a long time ago and replayed it recently, and it feels like Mafia 2 will remain relevant forever. I also want to point out that this game has the best optimization in the entire series. It runs butter smooth at 4K and seems to maintain around 120 FPS almost all the time on an RTX 3080. And unlike the newer games, the mirrors actually work. Mafia 2 also has the most satisfying, responsive and precise controls in the series. I cannot explain why, I just somehow feel it. The controls are far better than in Mafia 1: Definitive Edition and Mafia 3 (despite they more new).

Просто позор кто делал этот ремастер!!! Мало того что проблемы с русским языком, но это цветочки т.к. можно запустить игру от имени администратора и все решится, так еще и с сохранениями полная беда!!! Когда выходишь из игры все сохранения стираются, смотрел кучу гайдов на ютубе но ничего не помогло, это конечно можно исправить если постараться сильно. На дворе 2026 год, ремастеру 6 лет, а разрабы вообще ничего не делают. Я потратил кучу нервов и времени. А в оригинале через каждые 5 минут игра вылетает, не знаю у меня только или у всех но напишу.

Hello guys so i have been playing this game for the past 2 weeks the story was really good no doubt, however this being the definitive edition should have good graphics and little bugs, the MAFIA 2 is a masterclass of a game for its era but this definitive edition is garbage the collectibles are trash waste of time, i played only the joe DLC which was mediocre I'm happy to play mafia 2 but i wish i could have had my time back trying to 100% this game the jimmy DLC are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1000 miles No one in his sane mind would waste his 10 hours I am disappointed, this should not be labeled definitive edition its just a relaunch the same glitches in MAFIA 2 are in the definitive edition have u looked at the characters eyes it used to move now its like a drawing. Overall the story was a 9 leaving with a cliffhanger, but everything after that is ASS.
